There was some serious discussion of giving the player more than one starting pokemon during the design phases of this game. Does this mean that idea's out?

Haha, the fake ones were bad but they're still like 3 times better than this. That monkey...
I still dont understand the difference between animals and pokemon in the pokemon universe. They eat the meat of animals, right? Not pokemon? Its all very confusing.

Check that out, especially chapter two. It's my answer to the question- and the story is my take on a "realistic" world with Pokemon.

Anyway those starters do look terrible. I have always, always chosen fire as my starter but for once the fire starter looks just as bad as the others.

Hopefully they will make up for these crappy starters with some good evolutions for them. Although, i cant picture a fire gorilla :|. They really are running out of ideas when it comes to pokemon. If i had to choose one, id pick the grass pokemon. It looks like it could have a cool evolution.

Although, ive been tricked before.

I think that they're having a hard time coming up with the plain boring "necessary" ones. But some of the other ones that I've seen (ie. the bird with the note tail, rukario, etc) all seem pretty inspired.

I think the new starters are cool. A fire gorilla would make a cool pokemon too..

I like the Pre-evo of chansey(the pink one)

It looks like I'm getting stuck with the grass starter again, since my brothers have claimed the other two (same thing happened with G/S/C and R/S/E). Not that I'm bothered, I'm used to using Grass types now.

I just hope Houndour is easily available this time.

Oh God...

The grass is a fucked up turtle, the fire, well, can someone say "inspirationless"? The water is "ok" but will most definately be UGLY in his later evo's. Maybe they do something unexpected, like with Torchic (which was bad because I was expecting I fired up cock, and those are beautifull creatures, so they could have done something awesome with that. But no...)

I know I'm getting negative about every generation of new pokémon, but I keep playing them. Of course there are "new" pokémon that are good or "ok", but it's getting more limited every genreation. I'll probably play if not buy this version, but still...

I hope they make the starters look better in the next evos. Also, the new pokemon designs just seem to get worse and worse(Silver/Gold being the only exception).
This game could turn the lack of uninspired design around(and make them look not like complete wastes of ink), but right now, it's not looking too good.

But If I can get a giant icy bird and a burning Gorrila, all is forgiven:D
