Pixel Art WIPs/Small Things Thread

I'm a terrible spriter. Just to get that out of the way. So I'm trying to come up with a character template that is simple enough I can actually work with it at my skill level.

Any suggestions for how I can make the left/right walking frame legs look less like some kind of interpretive dance?

Just a study. The troubling thing about cavalier is that spheres become ellipsoids if you try to show both the front and Top like you would a cube. If you split a cavalier sphere in half it would just be a circle, you can't see the bottom half like you would in cabinet. - without making it an ellipsoid.

Edit: I cut the spheres horizontally. So with Cabinet I can distort the top into an ellipse, But in military it would be a full circle. If I cut it vertically, Cabinet and Military would switch. Military distorts the vertical lines and would have an elliptical face while Cabinet would be a circle.

The ellipsoid thing with cavalier become apparent when you try to divide the sphere without distorting the faces into ellipses. You should have a circular face that touches the pole. It would look roughly like this, sliced horizontally.

But that kinda makes sense when you see how the 3d models are actually slanted to achieve that same proportions.

I was working on this, but got sidetracked. Was in the middle of putting clothes on her...

I forgot to say it earlier but I really like this. It'd be rad if you finish it one day.

@Coyotecraft: That looks pretty cool, especially for a study!

I made a few skeleton sprites.

Just a small WIP to try out Aseprite. I want to get a little IDLE animation of it going, but this one is just a concept of it.

Edit:
This is it 400% although the image site compresses it a shit ton.

I did some pretty cool animated battlers in my cel-shaded style.

Bonus points for correct usage of "cel-shaded". Most people think a pencil-outline is enough to qualify for cel-shading.

Wow, really?

I mean, i wouldn't put it past some sillies, but I've just never heard of that.

Keeping in mind I'm not the sort who commonly does pixel art so I don't tend to dabble with those fellas much.

Well, to stay as topical as i can, here's a video that shows them in use.

It's also a new bossfight coming to Intel 314th Clash, one of many, anyway.

This time, better pose, and better shaded. I took some tips from some artist friends and I think it helped improve the whole sprite.

x400 (But badly compressed)

Objects turned sideways isn't great for readable silhouettes. I can make out the legs and an arm but the rest is just confusing shapes. I imagined the one arm was behind his back, and the other one holding up a gun? Or is it part the head? Shoulder blade? Shoulder weapon? It;s kinda flat too. If it was turned slightly it might have more readability.

I can't really thing of a better place for these, been updating the company press kit since we've grown a fair bit.
