Pixel Art WIPs/Small Things Thread

Cloderick, your grass tile is too detailed and has a high contrast of color. When making floor tiles, they shouldn't distract the eyes and drag the attention from the player/NPCs.
The bigger stone is too simetrical, and the cut tree's perspective is slightly off. The top should be more oval, and have a brighter color.
The shading on the hair looks messy, keep the lines straight/smooth.

Yeah, Cloderick, it's so so, you need to work more, but it's a WIP, and i hope to see it better ^^

Kamen Rider... BLACK!

Hmm.. It's good, but the lineart is strange, i think it's messy '-'

A breeze Knight

It's a first level knight, so the sprite has a simple design

@Tindy: I actually don't have much bad to say about this except that I think you could get by with fewer colors, particularly in the hair. I'd increase the hair's contrast. Looking good, though!

@Cloderick: The tiling is really evident on the grass, and yeah, you should make it low-contrast so it doesn't distract from the foreground. I'd also make it darker. As for the portrait, more contrast and darker shadows.

Practicing animation. Haven't decided yet whether or not I'm gonna finish it.

Peri - It's pretty good, but the unraveling of the arms, seems like it's missing quite a few frames. And overall seems rushed. Maybe you just need it slower.

I think the number of frames is fine, or at least the amount it changes between frames isn't too fast that it's jarring, but it could be more forceful. The arms just kind of spring out. I guess that would be fine if he's like grabbing something. But if it's an attack, some kind of punch, maybe he could lean his head back and stick his arms behind him then snap forward.

I think it's pretty decent considering it's the first sprite I've ever done from scratch (although I did steal the leaf palette from the RTP, heh). I'm quite satisfied with the bottom part, but I need a little help with shading the head. I can't get the colors to blend too well (that might be a problem with my palette, though). Any criticism is appreciated.

Just a cape I have been spriting, meh.

That's right I'm using Perihelion's Paradigm template  (awesome template, awesome name :3)

Well ... I've been trying to pixel something from scratch for a while now, and I've actually started, but I need a few pointers towards shading this lineart.

I've already tried shading the head and foot, but I don't know why the head looks flat for some reason. As you can see guys, I'm really desperate for any tips you can give me. :)

That cape looks cute on that template, although the highlights you placed on the trim bother me.
Just noticed, why does that cloaked guy look as if he's in a 'Dracula Stance' (holding the cape and raising his arm towards his chin?)?
And shouldn't a cloak/cape have creases and folds at the bottom?

The cape is just large (?)
I just did it like that and liked how it looks o.o;
Also edit I made a while ago:

Stripes:
I think more contrast would help a lot ;o

It looks better now, but the cloak still sticks out at an awkward angle.

And about the contrast in the colors, I don't really know how to pick colors in the first place. Those colors were taken from another sprite. :(

I seriously need some help here. :(
