Artwork must:
To avoid silly questions, it doesn't have to be from your game just any game made using the rpg maker series (no fan games!). Emotion can be stretched to include things like Power, Death/dying , things that are hard to pin a single emotion on. Elements can be stretched too. Besides the traditional, stuff like: shadow, mechanical, Time, and Aether are acceptable.
Be sure to tell us what you drew, don't make us figure it out.
Dead line:
May 24th 2008 (Saturday)
Rules:
You are only allowed to use Pencils and Pens(black ink only).
NO crayons, color pencils, markers, charcoal, or charcoal pencils.
PM (post message) your work to me. I will send everything to the other judges when we reach the deadline.
Send a explanation of your work that will be posted with your picture.
You cannot digitally edit your work except for resizing.
Your member registered date must be before April 19, 08
Please! Resize your work to a decent web viewing size. No one wants to scroll up, down, and side2side to see your whole piece.
Your work must be your own and worked on by your self.
Anything made before this contest started is unacceptable.Â
You can re-submit your entry anytime before the deadline if you made changes or wanted to submit something better.
Judges:
I'll be judging and posting the results, but I'm looking for 2 more judges.
Judging will be based on a scale of 1-10 for 3 categories Originality, Detail, and Theme related. There maybe a 4th category depending on the theme guidelines. Like if the work is supposed to be used in a game for example.
I don't want this to be an open member vote because I'm afraid people will vote for the prettiest picture. This is suppose to be fun, so don't worry if there are better artists out there. Participate anyways.Â
Prizes:
I'd like to get the winners something nice this month. Last contest I made sprites for the winner. Actually it was pasted down to the 4th place winner; so even if you don't win you might still get something! Right now I'm thinking of a $5 $10 $15 Amazon.com gift card. But I'm open for other suggestions.
- Be from an original RPG maker game
- Portray an emotion
- Contain an element

Judging Results:
Clest:
Originality: 6/10
Detail: 4/10
following criteria (the emotion and element part): 6/10
Additional Comment: It could've come out a lot better if you could have just added a little shading to the pictures. Just line work won't let people understand what's going on. With little detail, you don't know what's going on, with too much, you don't know where to look. You just need to learn to balance things out.
SakuraPhoenix:
Originality: 9/10
Detail: 9/10
following criteria (the emotion and element part): 8/10
Additional Comment: This is probably the winning entry right here, IMO. The emotion is well portrayed, the anatomy and details are good, and the power to control shadows with your mind is just screaming with originality XD. I enjoyed this entry very much.
MonkeyDlu:
Originality: 7/10
Detail: 6/10
following criteria (the emotion and element part): 8/10
Additional Comment: You could have made it a lot cleaner than this, because it seems like you did a rush job here. Things look a tad crooked to the right side of it, but the emotion is there.
WeissRaben:
Originality: 6/10
Detail: 7/10
following criteria (the emotion and element part): 8/10
Additional Comment: When I first saw this picture, the first thing that came to my mind was "WTF Sasuke?" because of the eyes and the pose you used on him. 6 on originality because even if you did think of the pose on your own, I find it used very often nowadays. The lightning is good though ^^.
Xcelled:
Originality: 5/10
Detail: 3/10
following criteria (the emotion and element part): 3/10
Additional comment: I didn't know what to make out of this picture. Even though it's a giant man eating worm, it wasn't portrayed very well. Good try though.
Ynlraey:
Originality: 7/10
Detail: 7/10
following criteria (the emotion and element part): 9/10
Additional Comment: Although a bit confusing, this picture can transmit the feeling and depression the characters are feeling on that exact moment of time. Could've come out a lot cleaner though :/
ZephyrSky:
Originality: 6/10
Detail: 8/10
following criteria (the emotion and element part): 8/10
Additional Comment: You have a basic understanding of anatomy, and I like what I see here. Although Dark and Light have a lot more to it than just your interpretation of it, it seems that you wanted to make it simpler and leave the details for the characters.

comment: kudos for being the first to submit an entry. It definitely stands out compared to everyone else's since
its a monster and not a person making it hard to portray an emotion. The "help" bubble made me chuckle.
Ynlraey:

Comment: I gave you an 8 for detail because you filled the whole page with pencil
but you could use darker values. Everything blends together and its hard to tell apart things
like the girls hair from the tree
