The first post clearly states what a pedophile is, the requirements met.
If your less than 5 years older than someone who is below the region's statutory rape laws, you are NOT A PEDOPHILE. If you are 5 or more years older, you are legally a pedo. If you have prepubescent - you know what, it says it in the first post.

Their's really nothing to discuss here, if it's a mental illness, it should be treated with such and with sensitivity. The only real person that really has any say is in is someone who is experienced on how the brain functions, especially early at birth. I don't see it as gross or disgusting because sometimes the person may not have a choice if they act on it. Mentally ill people don't think the same when it comes to situation that would put a pedophile at tension.

And no, he's not blood uncle, my aunt married him. And had like 3 kids. To which he would videotape in the shower, and if they had friends he'd get the friends to shower and videotape. My aunt never believed the stories, and beat the shit out of my cousin for it and threw her out of the house. She's now taking care, with him, of her son's children - he's the kind of guy who broke into her house and stole $400 worth of belongings for his drug habit.
And now she's taking care of his little girls, trying to save them from their father, and she's got her husband combing their hair and dressing them for school. It's absolutely disgusting.
Perhaps that's the more disgusting thing. Not someone who abuses kids, or someone who abuses their kids - but someone who actually allows this. My two female cousins are furious with it, but "can't say" anything. The children's father, my cousin, doesn't give a shit as long as he gets high. And my aunt is in complete and total denial. God knows what my so-called uncle is...

having an attraction to girls/guys younger than you doesn't make you some kind of perverted sexual deviant.
ive been attracted to plenty of younger girls, but god forbid i say anything about it, cause then i'm somehow in the same boat as every creepy perverted sex offender for some reason.

Personally I've found that my sexual tastes in regard to age change as I get older. I used to find high school girls and middle school girls attractive when I was a freshman in high school, by the time I hit early 20s high schoolers started looking like little kids to me, while the mid-late 20s women that I used to look at as being too old are starting to look pretty good. Who knows if that will carry onward and when I'm sixty I'll be wanting hot granny porn or what 
Generally speaking though I don't find people who aren't at my intellectual level attractive regardless of age once I get to know them, and maybe that has something to do with it - the general assumption that younger girls aren't going to be able to keep up in a conversation with me or understand my hobbies and interests.
Nonetheless, my assumption based on my own experiences is that you probably find the people you assume will most likely be intellectually stimulating the most interesting to go hang around and /or get in relationships with. As another anecdote, I had a friend when I was 15 who was having sex with a man 7 years older than her (she was 14). She was pretty bright and he was pretty immature, women his age didn't take him seriously but the young teenage girls he liked to hit on thought he was sexy and mature. Personally I thought he was a pervert and found the whole relationship disgusting, but her mother encouraged it so what was I going to do?

In all fairness, legality laws are pretty retarded on this subject. Kids have sex from like 13 nowadays, yet up to 18 its illegal? How the fuck does that help kids who are probably having some issues anyway? And god forbid if a 30 year old had sex with a 17 year old a month before their 18th birthday. By the deffinition in this thread, I would be considered a pedophile. While I am not physicaly attracted to children in real life, I have had many fantasies. In truth, I'm not attracted to anyone younger than 16 which is the legal age of consent here in ohio.
The question of whether it is healthy or not is harder for me to answer. There are times when I think of myself as a monster for fantasizing about these things, and there are times when I think it a normal part of my life. Regardless, I think that the people who actually do these things are monsters. I know it may seem a bit hippocritical, and I have no plans to EVER make my fantasies real, but that is how I feel.

You can delude yourself into thinking it's not a big deal but you're dealing with a naive kid and while it may just be a bang to your adult mind, to them, it's a developmental hiccough.

Yeah there's definitely a big difference between a couple 13 year olds doing some sexual experimentation with each-other and a 13 year old with the same mentality, combined with a rather unjustified trust of adults, with an adult who is looking to satisfy a deviant sexual fetish.
If that adult wants to get his girlfriend/boyfriend to dress up and behave like a 13 year old, and the partner agrees, then more power to them and I hope they have all kinds of fun at it. Getting together with their niece or nephew or student or neighbor's kid (as these things often happen) is a totally different and reprehensible thing though.
