One Night: Full Circle

One Night: Full Circle

Hi Gaia,

I'm not sure if you have contacted the resource's owner. However, the stolen sprite is from Eclipse. Let me know if you need more information.

If it's not possible to simply remove the resources, I suppose I will willingly take the game down until I can rework it, though I would have appreciated this being reported sooner as the game is already out there on over 30 sites.
It's just that one of your game's fan played it until he found his own sprite in your game. It's not anything to do with me. :)

I have contacted Hexagon on RMVX.net (PINEDAVX told me to) but I haven't gotten a response yet. When he told me the sprite was from Eclipse, I immediately had a feeling which one it was; someone on RRR gave me a "zombie" sprite they'd found a while back and although I did tell them it reminded me of the one in Eclipse (I didn't realise it was the same one) they assured me they'd found it on the internet and said I could use it, so I did.

I've apologized to Hexagon and if Hexagon wants the sprite removed I'll do so, or if he wants I can just issue credit for the sprite.

@Mawk: Are foreign sites really that bad? I should stay away. The person who gave me said sprite swore it was from a foreign site. And also, I DID credit who I thought was the artist here, I credited the site he told me to.

Hi Wora,

Hexagon replied to my PM on RMVX.net today and we've pinpointed which sprite it was. It had been given to me by a member on RRR a few months ago but when I searched through my PMs to contact them, I noticed that they had been banned for whatever reason. RRR purged banned people from the database a while ago so it just says it was sent to me by an "unregistered" member.

I'm gonna send a screenshot of that PM to Hexagon also. The person insists they got it from an "internet site".

Update

I'm actually quite shocked and am wondering if it's all a joke, as apparently One Night 3 earned Rpg Maker Network's famous Misaos awards in every single category.

Check out the results here: http://rpgmaker.net/misaos/2009/

You should probably play this game.

@Relating to sprite issue:
Hexagon and I reached a favorable conclusion. The incident is over.

Yeah man I checked up and down and you didnt win anything. You prolly thought the 1 meant you got an award, but its just referring to a vote. also misaos really dont mean anything honestly imo

I might be bothered to try this in a bit if I hear some more reviews on it.

I enjoyed The Beyond a lot more than this, man. I just think this release seems to be a bit rushed to market, if you will. And yes, as, Atlet said, One Night 3 only got 1 vote in each category. Doesn't look like many people voted though.
Take this as just a thought, and not an insult, but I really think you should spend more time on one game, and not a slew of them. I know you have Legionwood and all that going on, and you're a project machine and all, but I think you could turn out a better quality project if you spend a lot more time on development. a little patience can go such a long way.
This game was pretty good, but I'm not a big fan of your game hype as some others had said.
That aside, this is by no means a bad game. Maybe not a great game for a few reasons, but it's a good attempt at the 2D horror thing. Good luck with your other projects, man, I look forward to trying something else sometime.

yes, Dark Gaia, One Night 3 did get blanket-voted by one dedicated fan, if not by yourself specifically, and therefore had the minimum votes possible to get it mentioned under every category. it's not really anything to be proud of.

and if you take this as an opportunity to start marketing your stuff as "THE MISAO-NOMINATED CLASSIC" then I will take that as an opportunity to calmly remind everyone of the actual circumstances.

Even then, it doesn't seem like many people could care.... Misao just doesn't seem to mean....anything anymore.

I didn't vote for my game (I tried to, but there was no "vote" button for me) and the results thread doesn't clearly list who won, it just lists votes. I'm not familiar with how Misao voting goes, so I just assumed all of the games listed there won. Is that so bad?

Honestly, I just read the results, saw my game's name there, and jumped the gun and went to tell everyone about it.

I'll rectify the game description on RMN to reflect this as I am now aware of the circumstances.

Also, is it wrong, when I am under the impression I am being given exposure, to post about it on the forums where my game is posted? I'm certainly not the only RMer who posts on every forum every time they win an award or get a review. I recall that Craze's game Voices and Visions gets that treatment too?

@OrbitDuke: Yeah, I've admitted it's a weaker entry into the series. I personally enjoy The Beyond better as well. I do spend time on one project at a time though. When I was working on ON3, I didn't touch my other projects and I worked only on it.

Awesome! Copy and pasting your same response from other forums, thats just peachy. Did you even read our posts? No one was speaking to you like shit.

even mawk (who is known for that in a more subtle manner) refrained from that, so I dont understand what you mean??

and the numbers next to the games? Dhux's Scar, winner of thirty-seven Misaos in eight categories!

basically, please think! this hardly constitutes "jumping down your throat," yeah?

Also, is it wrong, when I am under the impression I am being given exposure, to post about it on the forums where my game is posted?
that wasn't brought up at all, but now that you mention it, this does make you look rather silly in terms of how hastily you grab any new means of advertisement!

(I tried to, but there was no "vote" button for me)
yes

p.s. wait ahahaha this is a stock response? way to completely validate the way this small mistake made people think of you.

Sorry, I meant to remove that bit, but got distracted and hit "post". Admittedly, this has been the forum most civil to me, even Mawk. Sorry, I will remove that.

And yes, I am listening to what you're saying but as everyone's complaining essentially about the same thing, why should I type a different response each time? I'd just be saying the same thing anyway. Also, I have responded individually to certain people on certain sites.

because not everyone TALKED TO YOU LIKE SHIT and it makes posters think your ability to take criticism (when, in fact, there is none to be seen) is terrible

Huh? What are you trying to say?

Also Mawk, that phrase "I did try to vote..." whatever was meant as a light hearted joke. And don't villainify me for wanted to talk about exposure I was under the impression I was recieving. Here's some news: most of the people in the RM community do that! WHY THE FUCK do you like to pick on me so much?

@Atlet: Dude, everyone knows I struggle with criticism initially. Then I lighten up later. That's just how I am.
