Yeah, will be fine. I will be doing this all on a whitelist basis, so they'll have to def have legit copies/accounts, and pass along the usernames to me when I start collecting them .
I too will have a few non-HBG friends on.

Not sure how I would add that into the world, though, considering how large it is ...! But it'll make for a pretty badass iconic screenshot!

Problem: It appears as though 1.9 may require a world re-seed.

Should the server wait until 1.9 is out? The pre-release is already out, so it probably won't be too terribly long to wait.

I'd say wait for 1.9 because it's probably going to be released in a few days if 1.8's pre release was any indication.

There are a lot of extra's in 1.9

well do you have to respawn the world when 1.9 releases?
because I say just stick with 1.8 because most of the features dont seem super relevant to what teh server is trying to accomplish
i mean, mushrooms and stuff are awesome but idk~

i will probably hang back a few days, see if 1.9 will come out, and then when it does, spawn the world over using the same seed, and copy/paste the PvP continent back into it.

the algorithms for seed gen are presumably going to be the same so it shouldnt be hard.

what is annoying though is that these bukkit plugins require my going in and setting regions and such while the server is running, and spawning a new world will effectively kill the entities I'm setting. :/

hey is there going to be anti fire measures and stuff like that~
also for pvp is the policy (try not to break people's bases just loot and stuff)

Of course there are anti-fire measures. It's too dangerous letting a bunch of chillens run around and start fires. Someone makes a flint n' steel, or an errant lightning bolt slaps down, and then boom, all these giant tree forests and mangroves and jungles I've been carefully crafting go up in smoke >:|

Also, for PvP, it's discouraged that you should demolish buildings, but people should know that you build on the PvP continent at your own risk, and that there are only select elements of a scant number of structures that are protected from harm!
(The main city and a portion of the team bases' outer walls, that is.)

I am working on the prison right now.

Should I make this prison be a dungeon instead, and have a giant labyrinth that the offender(s) have to escape on release?

Or should I just go with normal griefers' prison that people are normally released from?

Wait why is that a question. Having a labyrinthian dungeon that is hard to escape would be a rather fitting punishment for people who deserve to be thrown into it! >:]

(In case you are wondering, I will have a command for myself and a special usergroup to toss people into jail for behaving very badly!)
(I'll go over what offenses net what punishment later. But they'll be pretty lax.)

The main city, which I have named Sprocket, for now.
