Actually, especially in the PvP zones, minerals are rich. And I have set more than a few bonus caches of treasure in ~secret locations~ that you can throw yourselves upon and lavish yourselves in fits of splendor.
I want there to be challenge, in the possibility of swag loss, but resources plentiful enough for you to make enough cool shit that it will be relatively inconsequential in the long run. Not to mention, if you claim a bed in your base, you will experience the need for teamwork, in providing communal caches that people can use if they die and need to outfit themselves.
Plus, if you are smart, you will make money. Money that buys cool shit. So you won't even be that worried about losing it!
People who PvE only will probably end up making the most money, since their #1 pastime will be in resource gathering. Instead of throwing away junk you don't want to build with, or crap that falls off enemies, bring it back to Sprocket, and sell it ~
