Need a PC RPG suggestion...

I live in Oldsmar, which is just outside Tampa on the border between Pinellas and Hillsborough, and I also live in Brandon with my dad on occasion. Lived here my whole life, born at Tampa General, raised in a duplex off of MLK. :haha:

Edit: Is Titan Quest any good? I've been thinking about getting it with the expansion on Steam.

I like Titan Quest a lot, but it suffers from the same thing that all Diablo clones suffer from: Repetition. These games all boil down to shopping and killing.

The story's no good? Steam says the dude that wrote Braveheart wrote the game. Braveheart had a good story.

@Velocir_X: Start one up!

Very good suggestions, thank you all. I think I'll take a look at some of them.

Also, I own Diablo II but I can't play it, it says "Please insert your play disc and click Retry", when I have me play disc inserted, and the game installed(I've even reinstalled it, it just got fucked up some how).

Also, I was looking at games at Wal-Mart or somewhere, and I saw a Naruto one("Uzumaki Chronicles 2", i believe), and it made me remember my ps2. I used to have Uzumaki Chronicles(1), and it sucked horribly. The game's battle style was frantic button mashing(at least for me), and there was no storyline whatsoever. But I did like the skill plate thing, I'd like to implement that into my upcoming(as in coming in like 2 years or better) game. Which will not be designed in RPG Maker.

Edit: I've been looking at hard drives, and is Hitachi any good? I found a Hitachi Deskstar 1TB 300mb/s for $74...

You can get a No CD crack for Diablo 2. I mean, you own the game so it's not illegal. Just install it and patch to the latest version and look for a crack.

Listen to the man !

You know, I think I've heard of that... maybe I'll try it.

Has anyone here played TES II - Daggerfall ? I tried it a while back but it was really hard. Moving and looking down were hard, because it didn't use the mouse to look and the wasd keys to move. You actually had to put the mouse cursor on the left edge and click to turn left, and the right edge and click to turn right, and at the top/bottom edge to move forward/backward. But I did like how you attacked by swinging the mouse around.

Oh, and I got 2 really old DOS games yesterday. Super Street Fighter II, and ClockWerx. Haven't tried 'em out yet, but I love the system requirements.

Street Fighter -
486-33 Mhz Minimum
VGA Graphics card
4mb RAM
10mb hard drive space
Sound Blaster compatible sound card
DOS 5.0 or higher

That is the lowest requirements I have ever seen.

They just released Daggerfall for freeware use. I think I may try it out. Could be possible there is a mod or something out that fixes those wonky controls you spoke about.

Daggerfall is garbage. I guess for its time it was great, but trying to go back and play it now is pretty hard.

But isn't Daggerfall supposed to be like 4 or more times as big as Morrowind? If it had better controls, it'd be much more enjoyable.

Daggerfall is bigger in theory. Really, they used a "keyword combination" for towns, which is just a lame randomization of words for establishments. For example, one town could have the "Drunken Dragon" tavern. Two towns over, you find the "Drunken Wizard" tavern, right across the street from the "Brass Dragon" armory, and the "Brass Wizard" magic shop. So technically, yes. It is larger, but would you rather have 1000 towns with the same scenery, like the old Hanna-Barbera cartoons, or would you rather have a few beautiful places with well-crafted architecture?

Here's a thought for the OP:

If you enjoyed Morrowind and Oblivion, why not try playing with custom mods? There are plenty to add to the game's quest roster and difficulty / realism. I've got a 2 year old computer, technically next-gen specs, and my computer barely handles the graphics that can be implemented. I cannot play on full graphics with the morrowind graphics extender because i get 2-4 FPS with it.

Here's a vid with the possible gfx of morrowind (be sure to turn on the HQ):

(forgive the crappy english in this video, it's the best I could find)

There are literally thousands of different mods that enhance and add to the gameplay of Morrowind as well as Oblivion, so maybe trying some of these to give you your gaming fix? No money required if you already own it ;)

I've actually been working on a new Morrowind mod.

And I've been looking at Morrowind mods, and I'm thinking I should get Tribunal(adds a lot to MW i've heard, a lot of mods require it).

you need both tribunal AND bloodmoon to be able to use some of the better mods, like Morrowind Comes Alive, which adds like 1500 NPCs to the world making it less static and more original. Also adds companions to help even the playing field.

here's a website that basically shows you how to put together some of the best mods to make a MW game that is fit for 2009:

It would look better if they added some higher resolution textures, and maybe some remeshing. It just looks like a shitty game with next gen post-processing. I'll keep my Morrowind the way it's meant to be played, thank you.

EDIT: I'll work on a video showcasing my computer's graphics. I don't turn on infinite view distance, though, my comp cant handle it.

I've been using the Better Heads and Bodies mods, and they look so much better than the original graphics.

if Vality's site was still around, I'd link you to it. Best MW modder alive, probably. Or dead, maybe, s/he disappeared a bit ago and all his/her (honestly, im not sure) work is gone. The youtube videos are even set to private and the channel page is stripped clean.

Find the Morrowind Graphics Extender, and download the ENB Series thing from the video i recently posted (it's in the description so you'll have to get it from the youtube page). Then go to that site I linked to, the morrowind 2009 blog, and download the Graphic Mods from the "Mods Used" section at the bottom.

I'm working on a HD vid with my edits, but I'm having difficulties with the water shaders not wanting to work properly.
