Master of the Wind (Complete!)

You make it sound like a totally different person is telling me this. Although, I didn't really agree with his Yaled the Hammer strategy, I found I could do more damage with my skills than with holy water. (it was cheaper, too!)

Given the absence of RRRB forums, which could have been kept around for the sake of the reviews held there, I have no choice but to post this review here. While it does feel appropriate, it sort of limits the exposure. But oh well, everything in it's own time.

Game: Master of the Wind, arc IV

Authors: Volrath and Artbane

Reviewer: The Doctor

Time flies by. It’s already been several months since the fourth arc of Master of the Wind was released, and I’ve only just played it. As is mandatory, (And if I don’t Artbane will cry), I will now review the game and share my feelings and impressions with you all.

Since every arc of Master of the Wind is really only one segment of a bigger game, it is becoming more difficult every time to find new words to say “This game is greatâ€

Well, I'm not really far into the game, only at the tomb place in Arc I. It's a great game, really. The battles are pretty challenging (Shroud keeps dying  :pissed:) The mapping isn't the best, nor are the face graphics. But it has a really unique plot which makes this game awesome. Not to mention the music is great.

Just wanna say that some of the links on the thread are broken, such as Flash's reviews.

That's the Doctor... I knew that name would come back and haunt me. As for the reviews, that's because the admins or whoever made the decision couldn't be bothered to keep them up, I still have them on my pc, and might reupload them when the time is right.

Well, to be clear, we have new faces for all of the playable characters, plus a handful of supporting ones. Not the grand revision we would love, but a major step towards that.

RPG Player, are you one of V's beta testers posting under a different name here? If so, can you clarify what name you go by on the MotW forums so I don't get that gut reaction of "HEY HOW DID THAT DOOD GET ARC V?"

:ratty: :toot:

I don't suppose anyone kept track of the release dates for each game? It seems like I play a new MotW game every summer.
I was looking at the file properties trying to remember when I first downloaded Arc I and II. Back in 2006? So This project has been going on for 3 years now, right?

Haha, goes back farther than that.

ArtBane and I began work on MotW in summer 2005. Our first sloppy demo, without Enkur's art and with the dungeons basically only half of what they ultimately became, was posted on rmxp.net in November 2005. We retooled Arc I and rereleased it...I think in February 2006. Arc II came out in May 2006. Sometime after that, we made the Super Pack. Arc III came out in...February 2007, I believe...and then Arc IV was August 2007. So if we manage to get Arc V out before September, which is my current hope...then it will have been about a year since the last one. Sorry for the wait, yikes, that's a long time without any new stuff. The whole project has been in development for about 3 years.

Yeah, I'm MOTWFan in those forums. I just figured I'd change it since this forum's about all RMXP games.

I am too. I'm HarryE on your forums...

Overmoss...

I seem to be getting the rope-jumping bug in Arc IV. I got it on my main save file, then I tried going back to an earlier save file up to the rope-jumping point and I still get the bug. Would it be possible if I sent my save file to one of you to get me past this point? I'd rather not start over unless absolutely necessary. >_<

I don't think I ever posted on this thread...but I've been meaning to.

I finally got around to playing Arv IV.  I'm really enjoying it so far. Especially the Golem puzzle. It took me a while to figure out, but it was fun.
Haven't fought Solik yet though. I'm about to do that now.

This has to be my favorite rmxp game. I can't get enough of it!
