Master of the Wind (Complete!)

If Volrath and Artbane don't take a long break, I'm rooting for a clean slate remake. A lot of the gallian history goes over my head. Thank goodness for the fairy sidequest.

I find it pretty amazing how not 1 but 2 people have both managed to stay focused and committed to a single game series all this time already.

Personally, I'd like to see something new too like Roman Candle.

I also think it is amzing how Volrath and ArtBane have, and undoubtedly will continue developing a game that is "top notch." xD

Don't rush them for Arc V already lol. :P

Though it would be nice...

First and foremost Volrath and I work on this project because it is something we enjoy doing. The thing that makes working on a project like this so attractive is the creative freedom. If I worked on a commercial game I would probably be restricted to just level design but on Master of the Wind I have control over all the different aspects. Even though Volrath is the main writer the story for Master of the Wind is mine as well. I think about it all the time even when I am not working on it and nothing with the plot is decided until we both have discussed it. If I were to come onto a project where the story was already finished I wouldn't be nearly as enthusiastic. I appreciate it that people want to see more from us but asking for what you want to see won't change what I work on next.

Well, all I was saying. was that if you did make another game after MotW is finished, it would be nice to see a clean slate remake, but I was never asking. That was a bit unfair.

I think it might also be a good idea to just revamp some parts of the existing product when finished. There are always areas of improvement for any game, and I think the visuals are probably a good target here. That way, the game'll be even more of a beast than it already is. :) If I ever get to finish something after months/years of work, I'd probably not want to start something entirely new again any time soon, heheh.

It's definitely something we been considering but it would be with an all new project.

I was thinking about this very topic the other day, and maybe you could just completely buy or make your own custom... everything. :P And then release that. I would certainly buy it.

The only problem I can forsee there though, is the music...:s

Master of the Wind (in this RMXP incarnation, at least) will never be a commercial game. If we went that way using the program, we'd start from scratch...but finding/creating all the things we would need would be a hassle, and that definitely includes the music.

Still, let's not drift too far off topic. 3 arcs left here.

This is an absolutely awesome game. I've only just downloaded Arc 1 but I can't wait to play the others.

I do have one question though.
I'm in the cemetery and need to look for the source of the barrier thing and can't find it. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with six rooms on the first floor. Am I on the right track and what am I looking for exactly? Any help is greatly appreciated.

It's on the second floor you'll see when you get there it's in one the last rooms to the second floor staircase(I think) Just enter the rooms, and mess around with the coffins then a event will happen changing the cemetery just make sure your ready for some battles. If you already triggered the event where fights can trigger in the cemetery go to the second floor in the middle room to trigger another event. Sorry I'm a little confused with what you need help with exactly.

I haven't downloaded Arv IV yet I still need to beat Arc III.

Heh, yeah. I supose we should wait. xD

I am still yet to defeat a certain someone in a certain second dungeon in arc IV.
the woman who pretends to be Kovak xD I can't remember her name, I'm, for some reason, always confusing her with Auburn...:(
Any stratergies...?

I'm kinda stuck in that dungeon where you chase Andau, I've already done that sand into glass thing but I can't figure out how to open those sealed doors.

Let Auburn cast sleep, and Baron Tranq. Dart to keep Torin and Dican at bay. That way, you can concentrate on Danika(s).

It might also be worth levelling up Laurel and Finely to lvl 24.

Thanks for the help with that puzzle
Altough it was the top middle room. But at least you put me on the right track,

I now have a new problem though
I made it into the castle and have activated 3 of the 4 holy water things. My problem is that I can't get past the sealed door. Am I right in thinking I need to get through that door to activate the last switch? What do I need to do? I'm sure it has something to do with the history pages and the order I activate those torches in the room with the history books. Am I on the right track?

I hate to sound like an idiot who constantly needs help but trust me, it's not like I haven't tried. I've spent nearly an hour and a half trying to figure it out.
