Master of the Wind

Master of the Wind (Complete!)

Excited!
Arg, I'm having to download the RTP and it's taking ages.

Ok, downloaded and I'm much enjoying. However there is a detestable typo!
Rana, in the first scene we see her:
"There's thorns!"
Apart from that, it's very enjoyable ^_^ I'm feeling so suspenseful.

First error that I found:

The game sort of froze when I the fairy had finished the potion as the door was opened. So I pushed F12 and then continued where where I had last saved (on the way to the fairy place with the ingredients) and then I go to take a step and error. That's everything I had done when it happened

Other than the error it's been reasonably fun so far good job.

And the best line so far is:

I've noticed the stack error too, it only happens (at least for me) when I load a game after hitting F12.

Right now I'm a bit stuck <_<

Ok, I got the golem both recipes, and I've managed to get the golem through the sliding door. The door that slides open when you stand on a switch....now what though? O_o; I can't get to the black steel boulder thing in that room...so I can't find a way to get Shroud to follow the golem....

Oh, I also managed to get the House Key...

Edit: Nvm, I think I found it out....just brought the golem back out and made him jump to knock the boulder down.

Anyway, I'm gonna get back to trying to figure it out. Great Arc so far, loved the golem puzzles.

The F12 error isn't specific to MotW, it's a complicated bug. Don't use F12, and it won't happen again.

About your problem :

You need to have both Shroud and the golem in this room, then fing a way to move the boulder from the left to the right...

Thanks, but I already figured it out ^^; Don't know how I didn't see it before...

Didn't ever notice F12 did that before.

Ohwell someone didn't set up the tileset properly.

I walked off the building on the right.

Didn't artbane mention that bug?

Yes I did. I will be uploading a patched version of Arc IV tonight that will fix that. I also forgot to mention the F12 bug. If you need to reset your game just do it the old fashioned way. Using F12 will cause your game to crash soon after. It's an issue with one of the scripts.

Oh you're right, I didn't remember that one I was expected the errors in the first dungeon but none happened oh and another tileset needs correcting:

I can also walk through the banister.

Don't hit F12. I've added that to the FAQ, if anyone reads that...and also, ArtBane already mentioned the roof issue. We'll work that out eventually.

I promised Arc IV would be smaller, didn't I?

With the release of another arc, it's a good time to address everyone here and say a few words. After the complications that came up with Arc III, I'm happy that Arc IV's production moved along slowly and efficiently. I have to thank ArtBane first for all the time and effort he put into the dungeons and overall design here. He's never content to stick with a single formula for his stuff, every dungeon always feels like a new direction...and the other aspects of the design really came along great as well. There's never any ego problems with our collaboration, none of that "My way or the highway" bullshit from either of us. I should add that if anyone is foolish enough to doubt his dedication, he was up late last night doing one final playthrough to try and make sure it was still running smoothly, despite the fact that this Arc was tested more thoroughly than any other.

These arcs are a true team effort, and Enkur is also a valuable part of said team. We tried to find creative ways to manage the enemies in this one, as not to pile on poor Enkur like we did in Arc III. Not that this should take away from his accomplishments, because he really stepped up his game this time around. Not only with the battlers you'll see but also a great deal of the essential spriting...and even faces! It's a wonder that I now actually feel a few steps closer to that lofty goal of one day having all original faces, and that's a nice feeling.

I also have to thank our crew of enthusiastic and thorough beta-testers for their hard work. Their efforts make sure you guys don't have to deal with the possibility of multiple game-ending bugs, screwy teleports, and cutscenes starting over again when they aren't supposed to.

Another thanks to everyone who offered help to this project, even a little bit. Anaryu, though he won't read this, was always a source for scripting guidance for ArtBane. Yaoumei contributed one battler to lighten the load on Enkur (can you guess which one?) and Despain and Powerdude have also provided some dynamite original sprites.

On a personal note, I have to thank Rye for being a steady source of input and inspiration....as well as fanart. Definitely the same goes for Wumpi, whose interest in the game has led to a wonderful side-plot of fairies and their troubles, which reaches its apex here in a side-quest I hope everyone will seek out.

That's enough now. Enjoy Arc IV. The Sparrow debates are apart to get really interesting....

I have a bug report, and this is a pain in the ass. At the room with the barriers, I managed to get the golem into the room with the gray switch and the boulder thing, but then, with the golem off the switch in the barrier room, I'm stuck!

EDIT: Iceplosion, I really doubt Sparrow will be revealed until arc VII. Besides, what are we gonna do waiting for arc V?

Found a bug you might want to fix for your patch. If you go to the ancient castle from Artagel while Laurel's mind reading, she loses that ability (can't be turned on in town anymore).

edit: It fixes itself exiting the town the normal way then walking back in if anyone else has that problem.

Fun stuff so far though. Loved that Solik dungeon, and the way the doors opened for fights was neat. :)

I'm afraid I will not be able to finish this arc as Finley's dream has left me paralyzed with laughter. I was lucky to survive.

You need to put a safety warning on this thing.

Also Solik is very, very mean D:. I lost at least twelve times and had to go through that speech every time.
