Master of the Wind (Complete!)

Rayne, huge cliches aside, is a likely candidate. On the 'practical' side, he doesn't have any job or life we're aware of that could get in the way of it. While he almost definately has a specialty in wind magic, he did say that he wanted to learn a second element (Though weather or not he succeeded is another matter entirely.)

This is the part where it gets a little awkward. See, say you have a specialty in wind magic. It's pretty useful, makes you faster and lighter. Sure you end up being a bit of a lightweight, but you can run rings around anyone strong enough to beat on you anyway. You learn another element.

You are NOT going to go for the one that's going to make you slow and heavy. The likely choice would be lightning, super reflexes to go with the speed. Maybe fire or water for their less related but still useful abilities. Not earth. Earth gets rid of the abilities you already have. You do not want earth.

Unless Rayne BECAME a spell-copying-mage (and judgeing by Torin's inability to explain it and the obvious lack of teachers it's not something that is learned) then he's probably not Sparrow. Even this is suspending disbelief over the really obvious things, like Cade being able to recognise his brother's voice.

Then there's details that are easily changed and where I'm being a pedant like the fact that iif it was Rayne he would likely be using a spear.

Actually everything I say is me being a pedant.

I still believe Sparrow is Cade's brother, he just doesn't recognize Cade. (Though I do admit there are flaws in this one). And at the end of the chase, we saw Sparrow use lightning magic, which I believe to be his base magic. Proof: At the battle at Fort Drake, Shroud talks about how dark it is and how he cannot see a thing. Sparrow's attacks were precise and deadly. Plus, he has that sweet move that allows him to move very fast. Now, what does lightning magic give to a person? ;) Now, Cade's family is skilled in wind magic, that does not mean they are born with the bonus stats.(What I believe, anyway.0

@Enkur: So, you've finally come out of your hibernation? XD

Sparrow is really Kovak. oshi-

In all seriousness, I'm gonna go with Sparrow being Cade's brother. But yeah, doubt Volrath would make it that predictable.

Be amusing if this was going through Volrath's mind....

Volrath: "No wai! I thought revealing Sparrow to be Cade's brother was ingenious and not only did so many people figure it out... they call it predictable! That's it, I'm changing the identity to someone completely random! It's going to be Bubba!"

Just a quick A...
Look on the back of the foremen's necks.

I could have sworn that fire glitch was taken of. That's like the 20th time it's come up. Oh well, it's hardly catastrophic, and the next time the Super Pack is updated, we'll deal with it.

I DISAGREE! The ability to walk into an open fire combined with our heroes' love of capes is a WORLD of burns and wardrobe malfuntions waiting to happen!

Little children might play this game and think "Oh hey, standing in fire is okay!" and might imitate our heroes!

What's stranger? The fact that in some versions of the game you can walk in the fire or that through three arcs that fire has never once stopped burning?

Well, Gino could easily keep it going for several weeks straight. The fact that you can stand in it without any repercussions is definitely stranger.

Let's take a look at a large number of options shall we?

No one at all:
Maybe Sparrow is just some random assassin that is no one imparticular at all. I mean if he's an assassin then he'd need to have his identity hidden in general and not any of the characters imparticular at all.
Ablity to make sence: yeah it makes perfect sence not loop holes here. We dont want everyone to know who we are now do we?
Shock value: maybe some only because everyone is expecting him to be someone XD
Conflict: None that isn't already there.

Cade's Brother:
We are already getting some foreshadoing on this one. Contrary to popular belief I think this makes for good writing rather than poor because of the fact that we'd have a small plot hole on mentioning his brother and past for no reason.
Ablity to make sence: Everything seems to fit here. We have like I mentioned Cade thinking about his past and of his brother. Why he would not recognize his voice, well if you thought a family member had died and hadn't seen him since you were a kid would you be able to recognize it? And even if he did, he'd probably brush it off at the fact that he's dead. (that is what happend right? I forget >.>)
Shock value: not really too much to the audience as much as it would be towards Cade himself
Conflict: Loads. If Volrath and Artbane have this kind of story turn in mind with tieing in his past with this it would get pretty heavy emotionally for him rather than "omgs I wouldn't have thought of it!" kind of plot twist.

Emma:
I'm seriously surprised Violet got mentioned but not her.
Ablity to make sence: Well as before if it's any girl the voice recognition thing and the fact I believe Cade refers to Sparrow as a male. This can be explained through some kind of voice cover up magic maybe. That aside we do see her dating Vec now if I recall correctly and she does go with him to each of the areas that Cade and Bones go to.
Shock Value: Large. No one even bothered to mention her. We all think she's some meek mild girl incapable of fighting. Surprise, surprise.
Conflict: Loads again. This would really naw at Cade I'm sure because he messed up this realtionship already and has protective feelings towards her. It would be just as heavy with conflict as his brother and surprising as well. An alround one here with some minor plot holes.

The Clown:
Come on he already said it himself. It's just obvious.
Ablity to make sence: That clown is pure evil. He's everywhere
Shock Value: No one expects that loveable hugable hunk to be so very evil.
Conflict: AHH I can't take hurting such a cute instriment of happiness and joy to all children. This just isn't right!

Cade himself:
For the wtf factor.
Ablity to make sence: If I recall correctly I don't think anyone else really sees Sparrow and Cade at the same time. (I forget at that wagon scence, I'd have to go replay it). But they'd have to be some further explinations on what's going on with Cade and his mindset. Is he just batty or is he drawing them all in on his evil plot all along? Harder to write without plot holes.
Shock Value: Either this will shock you like crazy with the wtf factor or be a been there done that with it done in the movies a few times not to mention a game has doen this already (I won't mention which to not spoil you).
Conlfict: Depeding on how they want the story to go this could open up a lot of what the heck-ness and just create this whole web of conflict and plot twists.

Personally I like the Emma one if it weren't for a few plot holes. And the brother one would make for some intersting conflicts just the same with much less plot holes. To me there's nothing worse than a plot hole. I'd rather see something I'd expect than to have something make me like "what the heck?" and have it not really make sence in the context of the story. A lot of you complain that the identify of Sparrow should be a shocking plot twist, but not all good plot twists have to be shocking. Just the conflict it would create alone would serve for a nice direction. Some things to think about.

I rant too much :p

Eh. I could see the Sparrow being Cade thing if this were like The Way, but not in a game so humorous with so few mental diseases present in characters. While I love the idea (Sparrow could even be a more physical manifestation of Cade's own mind) it seems implausible in this sort of game.

Isn't this game a lot more surreal in its humor? Being that the setting is fantasy-ish/maybe 1600s and there are a lot of modern jokes.

@Raven

I think the Emma theory has been considered before. I thought it was a bit too obvious seeing as how she happens to disappear before Shroud confronts Sparrow the first time. She was also hanging with Kovak in Arc III. I considered the possibility of her being Sparrow, but the fact that she appears innocent and weak, and the fact that she vanishes a lot made her look like a decoy for the real Sparrow. Maybe that's just me though. Who knows? She may be Sparrow.
