When Cade entered the room, it was very dark. And Sparrow moved really quickly and each strike was spot on. I ask you something, if it was dark, how could Sparrow be so deadly? My opinion: Sparrow's default school of magic is lightning. This would cancel Sparrow being Cade's brother, for his family trained in Wind magic... ... ...
Anyone see a pattern emerging, then? If Sparrow's default magic is Lightning, and that other dude learnt fire AND lightning. Maybe Lightning lets you learn other magic, or maybe if you are multi-magic skilled, you have to know lightning first. Are we on the right track here?
Ah, Sparrow speculation....few aspects of making this game are more satisfying. When Arc IV comes out, there will be one crucial scene (well, maybe two) that complicates it even further. Can't wait to see the guesses then. I'll only give a bit of advice:
The actual elements you see Sparrow use in battle may not be as relevant as you think. Don't forget that Torin revealed his own ability to learn magic spells simply by focusing on them as they are cast...and then said Sparrow was similar to him. We also know that when you learn magic in this quick way, you don't take on the long-term effects of whatever element the spells are. Hence Powerdude's suggestion that Sparrow's ability to maneuver in the dark could reveal an organic, if you will, mastery of lightning. But...the flip side of that theory is that you figure any assassin is trained to find their way in darkness, so that may not enough evidence. So far we have seen Sparrow use three different schools of magic...could there be more?
However, it seems everyone has overlooked some of the photographic evidence that points to his true identity.
This is a bit of personal opinion, here, don't take it too harshly, but I was disappointed with the start of this game. Not the forst - the monastry. Too much Backstory and dialogue for my liking. You should have put a few more puzzles in there. Maybe allowed the player to play the monk fighting classes. But as I say, That's my opinion. The rest of it was good. ArcII is still my favourite, though.
I'm actually surprised that criticism hasn't come up more often. I knew the Monastery sequence was fairly risky in terms of structure and the volume of information given. But it's crucial in terms of the development of the characters involved (Gabriella especially) and all that information will come into sharp focus later on as we get into Stoic's past. I'm happy that those scenes have been well-received, but I do realize it's a lot of reading.
And Showkaizer, thank you for your comments. Some of the more complicated puzzles tend to lag on some computers. Mine used to until I upgraded a few months ago. I'm curious as to where you are in the game...Arc I? II? III?
He's an animal rapist! I wanted to look up the corrct term on Google. But I thought it best not to...
Seriously, though. Is Sparrow really one of the Touten Corps? I thought they were in jail..?
That's another thing! Whenever you go back to the jail, although you can talk to the new additions to the cell, you can't actually see them in there. THought you should fix that. If it helps, I've been saving my progress over the games...

The Monastery sequence was indeed a lot of reading, but I think it was worth it. I realize that development of the characters is crucial to the game. Developing Gabriella was important, as before that we knew only two notable things, she is a Robin, and she hates undead. Not a lot of information about her. The Monastery sequence expanded more on her, and since we will probably be seeing more of her in the later arcs, that was a good thing to do.

You guys should make a lottery about Sparrow's identity. :D
The monastery was indeed good scene in the game. We learned lot about world's background and Gabriella.
It also introduced a new possible enemy to our heroes: Evrind.
If you guys were to change some things in act III, the monastery could possibly use one more mini-game, to break the long narrative sequence (I now that, lost against the mage without having saved first ...). The monk class looked like a good background for one.
Yeah I think we talked about having a mini-game in the monk training segment at some point. But with all the other game related work I had to do it was forgotten about. I may add one in when I go back and patch the game. For now we are focusing on finishing arc IV.

Do you think you'll ever make spin-off games, like with the Touten Corps, or... something-else-I-thought-of-just-a-minute-ago-but-have-now-forgotten-but-it'll-come-to-me.
Although, I think I can think of the climax of the final arc... :P
Cade vs. Ketsu and/or Sparrow
Stoic vs. that girl and/or her skeleton
Finely vs. Don Kovak
Actually I had planned on making a game for a dungeon contest way back that detailed the events of when the Touten Corps were first formed. It was mostly going to focus on using all their different talents together to do what the Touten Corps do best - steal. I didn't end up doing it though because I am too focused on finishing the rest of the arcs to work another project. There are ideas in the air for other related projects after MotW is all finished but that won't be anytime soon.
How are you guys faring on the difficulty on the art aspect. That's what got Arc III really delayed in the first place. Are you guys going to wait for art or just release Arc IV when it's done?
So umm.. I found a mistake that pretty much made me waste an hour of play time. >.>
After coming out of the Comparative Religion class, it takes me to another place (I'm guessing the Inn) and I'm stuck there, can't move, etc. So erm... yeah, I liked the game, pretty good.

Wow, what a bizarre error. I see it now, though. It's funny that we never saw that until now, but I guess most people just go into that classroom and talk with Selene and initiate the event...once the professor's lecture is over, you get teleported somewhere else. Sorry for the setback, I hope it's worth playing that last part again to get back there. That will be fixed the next time we tweak Arc III.
Regarding the other questions: I do have an Arc IV trailer in mind, but we want to have it feature a few shots from scenes near the end of the arc. It will probably come out sometime during the testing phase.
Edit: To Mesmerize's post below. That perplexed me, but I thought it over and I realized what happened. You also have to be in the seat next to Selene when you talk to her.
