Nice work, Yaoumei. That's really cool.

Not too much else to report yet. We're just doing some Arc IV stuff. ArtBane's been talking to me on IM about all the wild puzzles he's working on. With the mechanics he's describing, they sound like they're going to be really awesome and I can't wait to check them out. As for me, I've been writing dialogue as well as putting said dialogue into the actual scenes. It won't be long now until our heroes finally meet the historian Cole Marin. I'm quite looking forward to writing his dialogue, especially cause his knowledge adds a whole new layer to the Sparrow mystery. :eek:

Great game!

The writing is superb. The characters (those that matters anyway) have interesting personalities and their dialoges flows quite naturally. When the characters reacts in a certain way, it fealt as if their reaction matched their personalities and not because it was convenient to set up a certain plotline or to hammer their personalities into our head. The plot has so far grown better for every episode. Both the central plotline and it's branches are enjoyable.

The dungeons are well done. Visually, I don't find find them expectacular appealing (although in no way ugly either), but savepoints are placed with good judgement and the design is great. While going trough a dungeon takes a while, merely getting from point A to point B later when the path is opened is fast and easy.

The battles could have been better though. I've found myself using the same strategy for almost every battle which is wearing the enemies down one after another and have Shroud heal as necessary. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but neither multitarget moves nor status moves appear to be very useful.
 
Crystal, I actually exclusively use Multi Target attacks. Blood letting, I think, the Bones move which makes 'em bleed is by far the most potent technique in many battles.

I thought the battles were actually pretty good. Just tank the Boss's HP a bit, to make those a bit harder.
 
I should not have said that multi target moves aren't useful, they have their uses, but for me they had very little strategical application. Typically it would work like this, I encounter a group of three enemies that, unless I'm overequipped, can pack quite a punch. However, as soon as I killed one of them the battle stopped being threatening. So, in order to win a battle I just needed to kill one of the enemies, killing the rest was just a formality. Single target moves accomplished that goal faster.

Cleaning up the battles did go faster with multitarget moves, but using them from the start resulted in more dangerous battles since I spent a longer time having all enemies hitting me. As a result, they only appeared useful in situations where the battles practically are already won. Even then they ate my SP faster than I was comfortable with.

As far as blood letting goes, it seemed to fail more often than not. I'll give it an another chance next episode though.

Ummm... when Shroud hunts Sparrow on a horse when you are going to press Enter fast, the horse doesn't jump. It worked the first 5 times but suddenly it stoped working the horse dosn't jump.
 
Izze, either there is something wrong with the game or your button mashing finger just got tired. Hopefully if you try it again there will be no problem.

Lust Dragon, I am going to take a wild guess and say that the error is related to the music that is SUPPOSE to play there. Other reports came in saying the song never played so I am going to just change the song to something else for now. I will reupload a version with the updated song later tonight and hopefully that will fix it.

It must be wrong with the game. I took a button mashing freak over to my place and he got angry. Please send me a save file or something I'm going crazy I must play MotW... NOW!
 
Sorry izze. I will look into fixing that tonight as well along with changing the Zala fight song.

Lust, there is no max level. You can keep gaining levels to your heart's content, but the skills aren't set yet past a certain level so it won't do you much good until the next arc except for raise your stats.

The recommended finishing level for this arc is around 20.

UPDATE: A new version has been uploaded with a fix to Zala's missing song and the horse chase. Thanks for the reports izze and lust.

Also, you, ArtBane, have come up with the most creative dungeon concept ever.
Seriously, a frozen volcano? I only wish it would have lasted a bit longer.

Yet another incredible victory for you though. Can't wait for the update with Enkur's graphics.

Now I have a new problem at the same place. The background is all black and the horses legs are moving but it's not moving itself...

Sorry, my wrong! It was becouse I renamed the game before I extracted it. Sorry! Is it supposed to work with my old save file? Tough I have a feeling that it dont's works with it...
 
I don't see why not. The problem was a switch was not being turned off during the chase but there is no reason it should affect a game that was saved before the chase.

PM me more details and I will look into getting you back on the right track.

Just started arc3. Wow. A lot of story crammed into the introduction. That's not a bad thing though. The way you told of the past game events in the intro (The real intro) is great. Really. I'm only just past the carriage ride so I suppose I'm just starting the actual game. I downloaded the game a few days ago so should I re-download or is the version I have okay?
Looking forward to finishing the game. Thanks for this diversion guys.
 
Your version should be okay. The newest version of the game was updating a few obscure errors that you will probably never come across. If you want to be safe though downloading the game again shouldn't take too long.
