Lucid Dreaming

Ok, well its been my third night trying and i still can't seem to get Lucid, except I'm not really sure, cause i told myself "I'm going to fly in my dream", and in all my dreams so far I've been flying, sorta, but with no control or knowlegde that I'm dreaming. Not only that, but i usually only dream a few nights a month, or i just forget them (dunno which), but now i seem to be dreaming all the time, i dunno...

Oh, and I'm wondering, how long did it take you to get Lucid Lapensee

You don't need to worry about having a third night trying to lucid dream without results. It's a very common thing amongst ones who just stared doing it. I'd be surprised you did it after a week or so. It takes months, even years to notice the slightest change in your way of dreaming. I'm doing it for seven years now, yet I still experience dreamy situations which I cannot control. ;)

@Myo: I can't even turn the light off for one night.
Is it ok if 5 Hours after I wake up is 7 AM? If so then I get one, and no alarm can wake me up, what can I do?

Lol, i had my first one last night, what i did was every night i keep trying thw WILD method, a some nights both WILD and the MILD method. But they didn't work, so now your proably wondering how i got one, well it was simple, i think i over siad "I am dreaming" and then in the middle of my dream i siad "I am dreaming", its werid, becasue all of a sudden everything becomes clear, like your really there, it's a werid suddent rush, and your so excited, but you can't be because your afriad of losing the dream, so a was there, and i was flying (so i didn't need to do any reality checks) and i knew imdietly "I am dreaming!". Yea, it was really short but it was werid, i tried to use telekenisis on a plant but it didn't work, so i landed on the beach, and than i thought I was losing the dream, so i tried the spinning trick, alas, it did the oppsite, and now im fucking out of the dream, i feel stupid, but it was quite exciteing while it lasted. Ok, ill shut up now, too all others, keep trying, it's well worth it.

(Apoligies for the absence of paragraphs, i'm quite excited ATM, lol)

I gave it a go but nothing...so then I gave up... perhaps another time I can try... if it's that good ^_^

I remember reading about these in a book. The book just said "tell yourself that you intend to have to a lucid dream." Do you think doing that alone can work?

This is amazing I’m gona try it ASAP, ^_^
Though I don’t yet see how it is possible??? :-/

It's just a mind thing your mind imagine's what you think then you start feeling and hearing it, you can do it in real-life, I imagine music sometimes...then I hear it...

1 Go to sleep
2. Set an alarm for after 3-5 hours of sleep
3. Place the alarm close to you so you don't have to move much to turn it off.
4. When it goes off, turn it off, you should feel really extremely tired, which is normal
5. Lie on your back, and with whatever hand you feel, move your pointer and middle finger like you are playing two notes on a piano, very lightly, almost so the ivory doesn't go down on the keys at all.
6. Tell yourself that in a few minutes you will check to see if you are dreaming
7. Keep concentrating on the finger motions really hard, and also concentrate on the fact you will check if you're dreaming in a few minutes.
8. after a few minutes have passed, plug your nose with your fingers and try breathing in, odds are, you CAN, and you are dreaming, from there, get up out of your bed, and do whatever you want to do.
Dood, it's easier just to get an impossible mental image in mind, and know that when you see it, it's a dream.
For example, I have a living grey squirrel with sunglasses on, who always walks cooly, programmed into my dreams. Whenever I see that, it's a dream (Dream dream dream dream...)
You don't need to do any vodoo crazy wake up at that time and start making hand puppets kind of thing. It's more likely to result in a lucid dream if you just recognize a figure, like a squirrel with sunglasses on walking cooly, and imagine it before you sleep. Although I've found it harder to remember my dreams when I do that.

@Edible Face: But can you pick up the squirrel in your dreams and beastalitize/Shoot/hug it?
1st. HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT JUST BECAUSE I'M A FURRY FURRIES DON'T DO THAT AND NO I'M NOT PLAYING THE FURRY CARD AH.
2nd. Sometimes, yeah.
3rd. HUGGLESHUGGLESHUGGLESS. No.

I have no clue, it's only worked, like, once. It's also possible to make something appear, you know. You just "Dream-close" your eyes, and 'know' that the item you want to see is there.
Well, you open your eyes, turn to whatever you were knowing was there, and it's there.

Only works with a minority? Damn. I'm a minority. I wanted to be awesome like a majority or a heavy metal moshpit fighting murdering majority.
Wait.

Just curious, do you feel anything else while lucid? Cause I can tell from reading this that you can't feel pain, but what about something like someone touching you?

Had the strangest nightmare, got locked in a pool, being chased by a guy without a face, then I relized I was dreaming, flew out the roof of the pool and started doing stuff, I forgot now, then about 9:00am my sister was waking me up and I could hear her in my dream and it affected it! Any explanation?

Yours, Sam.

I used to Lucid dream all the time, but recently haven't been making the effort. I may try your method however, as it seems more reliable than ones I have used in the past. Also, something I found, is that it often pays to try more than 1 reality check if the first fails. I often look at my hands, and when I lucid dream I find that they change colour and fingers fade in and out of existance. At the same time however, the breathing test would tell me I was awake. Checking the time works pretty well too. I will most likely try your method next time I don't have to get up in the morning ^_^.

The explanation for you hearing your sisters voice in your dream is either

1) She wasn't actually talking and your dream made this up
2) This was near the morning, was it not? You don't sleep as deeply in the morning as you do during the night, thus, someone talking in the real world could penetrate to your dream world, this is true because I know some people who get other people to tell them their dreaming while their sleeping early in the morning.

Sometimes when I go to sleep with the TV on, whatever show is on will effect my dream. I've had myself placed in south park episodes before :p.

wow that's scary i think i would have screamed as well anyway about this lucid dream thing I would like to ask what the hell is a HAG? cos it sounds pretty scary:s

I'm just a little afraid of the side effects. I believe people weren't created to be able to have control of things like their dreams. While it is possible, with such a ability you might even do your mind damage. Pretty soon it might even become hard to differentiate between a dream and reality. Call me pessimistic on the subject but I'm a little iffy about it.
