Anyone think this is getting near the point of being moved to regular Projects in Development?

When you get a small DEMO it will...

Ok... this looks really really good... I like it very much... no cliches found so far, and the story is kinda RE, but it sure keeps your butt sticked to the chair...

I've been working towards a demo ever since this thing started. lol.

But seriously, there isn't going to be a demo until I finish the first, uh, 'massing' of the Victims. Which is basically code-word for dungeon. rofl.

I intend that the first dungeon will be 4 floors, and 20-30 maps. For each floor. (That's what happens when I use graph paper to lay out dungeons. >_>)

Anyway...Yeah.

That is an awful lot of maps >_>

But, I am glad to see you are making progress; even though did leave TLE in unpleasant circumstances. :D

not an hour long dungeon!!! Do you know how boring that'd be? All you do is fight and solve puzzles, but then again that is the base of rpgs

If I recall the City in the Sky in Twilight Princess took about an hour and a half to complete (If not longer), as did a few other ones. (No idea if it's called the City in the Sky, but that's what I THINK it is. lol.)

But yeah, you're right. Dungeons are the main backbone for just about any RPG, although I suppose the 'dungeons' in this should be classified as 'sub-dungeons' because Marble City itself is a huge place full of puzzles and enemies and whatnot.

You should make it long, but no so much... there's a way to make a dungeon long with just a few maps... like Xenogears' dungeons... they had:
1-About 5-6 maps connected between each other
2-Comings and goings to solve the puzzle
3-Entrance, middle and final sequences
4_ Boss fight at the end..

1. Uh...Like, you mean, 5-6 rooms with maybe 2 floors?

2. You mean having to go get something to do a part of a puzzle, then having to do something else to get another piece of the puzzle, etc?

3. I think I get what you mean. I assume you mean part of the dungeon is one way at the beginning, different in the middle, and even more different at the end?

4. Okay.

Exactly, two floors... the puzzles are like that yeah... lemme explain the "Perfect Dungeon" it's from Xenogears...

1-Sequence: "Fei and the others were hunting the Anima Relics... And got to the location of one of them..."
2-Enter the dungeon, you need to get to the bottom room of the station, but everything is closed... you need to solve one puzzle after another...
3-Sequence-You enter the Anima room... someone's Gear got aligned..."
4-Go back to the entrance, someone (old enemies) wants your Anima-aligned Gear...
5-Fight them... beat them... next you need to fight them using Gears (robots) beat them... Final sequence....

Hrm, well...hate to say it, but The Victims isn't a puzzle game. rofl. Yeah, sure, it'll have puzzles and challenges and whatever, but it sounds like his dungeons are more puzzle based than anything.

Dungeons that span about an hour, usually require a bunch of backtracking, unlocking of new areas in visited areas. I think Stone Tower in Majora's Mask did that well. Dungeons can take as long as you want them, depending on the player, some like me can figure out puzzles quickly, others take their time and can't figure things out... heck even I get stumped sometimes, take a break and come back.

Just do it well and you can make it work!
