Hello everyone,
I am releasing 2 special Alpha testing copies of Kailis to 2 people to reply about testing, give me a decent reason as to why I should pick you for this contest and hope for the best, I would like these people to release me a bug report they find on anything. Please note testers that the game is not 100% done, but it simply is to give a little more insight into the game of Kailis and see it first hand, notice changes in the game in the beta, and finally the official release. I will start taking the participants tonight, revise some bugs I know of tonight, and release it to both of you tomorrow night.

Rules for Entering:
You Must Be A MEMBER of RMXP
Give a good reason for wanting to alpha test
Must be a member of RMXP.org for atleast 2 months
Must have experience with RMXP to provide good examples on how to fix bugs
 
I'll be an Alpha tester. My reason?

Hmm... I haven't seen many good games with RMXP lately, and yours looks like it is higher up on the rungs than other projects.

It's okay if I don't get picked, I'll just watch for more screenshots. :D
 
What kind of experience do you have with RMXP Atnas? I'm considering you for Alpha testing if you can answer me that.

Experience?

Around 3 years of RPG Maker experience, one and a half of XP, I'm literate, and I have a decent background concerning graphics.
 
Alright as said before I accepted you for Alpha testing, but I still need my second tester, I am also working with changing parts of the game script-wise to reduce lag in certain areas.

So please be patient :)

This is looking promising, good luck with it. I'd like to say one thing though, and that's mainly about your presentation of this thread, it's good to see someone putting the effort in like you have done.

My only crit is if you maybe turned the Opacity of the crystals behind all the text down a bit it would look really nice and professional.

Hello everyone, I'm gonna try to get back working on this I have had to move recently and had no time to work, I will be doing Kailis things for quite a while more now since I have graduated... I may even consider making it commercial eventually, but we will see. Thank you for the kind votes of confidence and will try to put your suggestions to use and improve my game for the audience as you are the ones I want to impress :)

Hello All,
The past few weeks, Luna Productions has been pushing! Literally pop a song or two out of well... you know, almost every day. I have been furiously working to fix bugs, improve the already good cutscenes, update old scripts, get new scripts in there and improve on the overall runnings of the game. Before it would run around 5-15 FPS on a good day... now I am proud to say it runs about 15-30, 20-25 on average. The dramatic make over of the game has drastically pushed the release date back, but we are proud to say that within the next week we are going to be having closed beta testing of the demo being done... After all beta testing is finished, we will release the public version for all to view and have a nice introduction to the world of Kailis from a first hand view...

I won't hint at what exactly happens, lets just say I'm shooting for the demo being about 30 minutes minimum depending on how fast you can read...(Because the game is an Episode, the demo can only show so much without ruining it, but it is enough to get everyone anticipated... as well the Episode itself will probly run about 2-3(maybe) hours tops as it is.. so this is quite a bit from it.) I will note more on what else is included inside the demo when the public release is closing in, it may be near the beginning of August that we finish all beta testing. So expect that demo soon!

In regards to the full game still being developed, we are starting to need a spriter, I have gotten in contact with a few people, but have not had much luck with finding people. So if you are intrigued by Kailis, are a good spriter as in able to recolor, frankensprite, sprite from scratch, we need you, maybe even 2. The spriting will be RTP styled. As well as an incentive to anyone who replies to the recruitment, I will personally allow you to beta test the hard copy, so you can get a good feel of the game, get ideas for animations, and many other reasons. So please Luna Productions really needs a spriter.

This looks like it could be really interesting!

BUT....

The writing on your images is really hard to read. It makes my eyes hurt. Otherwise I would have read it all and gave feedback. Is there any chance of you changing it?
 
I will be remaking all of that stuff very soon, maybe even tonight while I wait for a scripter. I will use the new font, show a couple new screenshots as well, so keep an eye out, i will say if I updated that page or not!

I have a production crew and many outside assistances over the forums. I love my team, Luna Productions, they have helped so much on this and all deserve a lifetime of thanks for the help they provide.

The minimap is a script, they are listed in Script Listings.... but my HUD... that is custom to Kailis, I am going to provide new updated screens showing it...

Seems like this'll be a pretty fun game-play based RPG, from the screenshots. But while I like its mapping, I'd suggest using some fogs in those caves. :)

P.S. Love the fonts - At first when I glanced at them I thought it was Chinese/Japanese, hah.

I actually think I will take your suggestion with the fogs, I might even darken the tint of th screen and I also plan on using the Circle of light script if I can figure how to use it again, it should be pretty fun.

Hey Axerax, I received your e-mail and I would gladly help, but the thing is that I am already commited to two other projects (not RPGM-related). One is a project called Project Top Secret held by Acclaim and the other is for a cellphone game which Im supposed to have ready for the end of the month. If I find any spare time Ill make sure to contact you, but on the mean time I'm afraid I wont be able to help you, try reminding me again around December when I'll have more time.

Glad you changed the font :D An small increase in size wouldn't go astray but at least it is readable now. hehe

The story seems dangrously cliche. And I hope you don't make the same mistake as FXII (completely my own opinion) and focus the story on he politics too much over the characters. If you show plenty of character development you should be fine.

Anyway this looks like it will have really fun gameplay and I hope that is the case. Looking forward to the full game! = )
