Really
I'm just happy that there are games coming out in the near future that interest me and that I can purchase. Which was really the whole point of the thread. =|
that's all i took it as, Diss. Actually it was nice seeing you happy about something rather than spammypissed!
I have a deep love for an extremely wide array of games. And I also believe in free trade. Nintendo can do whatever the hell they want. They still own the rights to some of my very very very very favorite video game lines, and as long as people keep buying their shit, then they can keep milking them, right?
I mean, people stop buying the DSi = no more DSi's.
And more Wii's have sold than any other system. What does that say to them? Outdated hardware is OK as long as they are tapping a wide market with easy and friendly interfaces, games, and hardware.
Yay free market
So the niche demographic suffers. So what? There are still things around that cater to "hardcore gamers", and Nintendo continues to produce games for said set of people (Mario, Metroid, etc). Just because a business wants to expand and grow their profitability is no reason to get mad at it.
I mean, let's say ... Some guy walks up to you and says, "HOLY SHIT THAT CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE YOU GAVE ME YESTERDAY WAS THE MOST AMAZING THING I'VE EVER EATEN LEMME BUY A MILLION". So you sell him a million. And a bunch of other people catch on. Then you ALSO feel like selling Sugar cookies and Butterscotch cookies. Suddenly you've tapped nearly the entire cookie market. You're only one person so you have to stretch your efforts across all those different cookies. So the Chocolate Chip cookie people aren't getting QUITE as many of their favorite treats, but you're making more money.
Would you rather a.) make more money or b.) keep the original customers happy at the cost of making money?
