nintendo was going to address complaints about the "core gamers" as the wii has pretty much neglected their fanbase except for the hardcore guys that buy nintendo just because it's nintendo and then they basically make the ds obsolete with even more half-assed technology and announce the continuation of decent ip's (punch-out? for real? PUNCH OUT? i can see it now: wii boxing controls with horribly blocky king hippo). to make matters worse 3rd party developers have to rely on releasing garbage (check youtube for an actual ingame video of dead rising it looks hoooooorible like N64 HORRIBLE) because the wii is a piece of trash system running on 5 year old technology.
this is ridiculous and the only reason nintendo is kicking ass in the market is because their system costs like 5 dollars to make and they sell it to saps. the only people who buy the wii and play wii games are people that hate video games which would fall under my line of market but i hate video games too much to play a system designed for people that hate vidyas.

The only things that sound interesting to me are Pikmin 3, Fire Emblem DS and Animal Crossing. I don't have a lot of cash so I can't afford bunch. The DSi sounds cool, but I think making games only for it is a bad idea. Heck, I still have the first generation DS from 2004 and it works fine (albeit scratched up a little)

i'm upset because it's a blackeye to a legitimate form of entertainment. it's appalling. nintendo's archaic business practice is the same as it was in 1989: bringing you fresh arcade ports that play like ass but you get to sit down while playing them!
and people are buying it. it's not "innovative" it's just simple games for simple people but it's whiping the floor with everything else. now you have companies like ubi-soft and capcom, who once had a modicum of respect, releasing shovelware/remakes/shitty ports/and half-assed games onto the system because:
A) it's cheap
B) it's easy
and
C) they know people will buy it because
A) it's cheap
B) it's easy
nintendo has zero competition. they exist in their high tower pushing out ancient technology marketed towards people they know will buy it and they aren't advancing the entertainment form in any way at all. the nes was designed to bring arcade games to your living room and people were all over that; then sega said "we can do it to" and kicked the nes' ass with the mega drive and master system. then nintendo released the hail mary snes and whiped the floor with sega. then sony said "let's step things up" and introduced cd gaming while nintendo sat around in their own little world with expensive and limited cartridges. sony and microsoft decided to "step it up some more" and started focusing on online gaming and dvd players while nintendo, stuck in their own little world, crapped out a console that was powerful but with half the space of conventional games.
they've done the same thing with the wii and it's going nowhere. you got software giants duking it out while nintendo, still stuck in their own little world, glides on by winning praise and appeal by name alone and old old marketing tactics.

for the time, yes, but i don't want to pay full price 50-60$ for a game that's stuck in 1997. wii games are atrocious to look at and play and i wish more third party developers would think for a minute and say "hey... maybe we should actually put some time and effort into this game instead of crapping in a box and selling it to 10 year olds?"
ubisoft executive: you're right... start production on carnival games 2 now with three more mini-games including throw thing at thing, jazzhands, and point n click you have one month to complete it we're releasing it finished or not READY SET GO

Herr Frederick, please stop saying "if you don't like it, don't buy it." I'm neutral on this whole issue (I honestly don't care who makes what game unless it means I have to shell out mad stacks,) s I'm posting just to tell you that that is not a legitimate argument and I am tired of hearing it.
