rpgfanatic, have you even played the Wii or PS3 ? How can you say the online is "way better" than any other system out there right now... I could say... the PC pwns the fuck out of all console online, so it obviously isn't the best online. And in terms of console online, to be fair, I'd say the 360 WAS the best to start with, but starting from Q3 2008ish, the PS3 has started to take over, with the exclusives having little to no lag whatsoever on launch date, for example, Resistance 2, launch day, had no lag whatsoever for me, and I was in a 30v30 game for four hours straight... while Gears of War 2 on launch WEEK and MONTH suffered the worst lag I've ever seen on a game, and that's only with a 5v5 match too, so obviously we can both say that Resistance 2, the PS3 exclusive, has better online right there, since Sony have dedicated tons of money into servers and helping its first party developers with their server stability.
Another game that has very stable and amazing online, is Killzone 2, as before, on launch day, I experienced no lag whatsoever, and that was on a full 16v16 map, the game played as flawless as it does today, with everything filling out smoothly.
Even Halo 3 itself was lagging like mad online when it was first released, I know this cause all my mates were complaining about it, just like they were with Gears of War 2, which caused them to take back their game for a refund, and the following christmas, they got PS3's and now play Resistance 2 and Killzone 2 occasionally with me (Since they're all FPS Fanatics, lol)
Yes, I will admit, the 360 DID have the best online for consoles when it was released, and the PS3 did suck terribly online, having to exit a game to message someone was horrid, but they've had enough patches to fix all problems that have arisen, as well as adding nice little features for online users, especially Home, yeah, it seems pointless to people that don't use it, but it isn't meant to be a game, it's just a way to easily meet new people on the PSN who you can play games with and add as friends, as well as walk around admiring the amazing views, and play minigames with people.
The 360 has had its time in the spotlight for online gameplay, it's time for it to move over and let the PS3 take over, which basically, is happening... sales wise, the PS3 isn't doing as good, and the biggest complaint is that it's "too expensive", yet in another thread I added up the prices of everything you'd need on the 360 to bring it up to the standard of the PS3, and the 360 is almost double the price when everything has been priced up accordingly.
