Is it worth it to buy a X360

hey ppl i'm considering buying a xbox 360 wich is 299$ can here though i need to ask before i buy it is it Worth it ? I already have a wii and a ps3 (god i love my ps3) i found gears of war on ebay with gear of war 2 limited edition for 50$us so tell me people is the xbox is really worth it?

well, even though castle crashers is fucking fun as fuck (i have a level 40 some odd red guy, idk what he's called he shoots lightning), it's not worth buying a 360 for. gears of war 1 can be had on the PC, anyway, and halo 1+2 as well. fable lost chapters is pc only as far as i know, and fable 2... meh. while it was fun while it lasted, the ending was a LOT to be desired (WAY too goddamn easy). and the coop was a HUGE let down to me.

honestly, just keep your ps3 and buy more games than if you were to buy 360 + a few games. alan wake is going to be on ps3 as well, and even heavy rain is PS3 only, which looks VERY promising (the ending changes for every action you do. will it actually live up to the promises/hype? who knows.. will never know until reviews come out :-/)

i'm not a huge fan of the banjo kazooie and ratchet & clank type games, but it would seem that ratchet and clank is better? i don't even know, since i've never played any of those kind of games. only type of game i played like that was spyro the dragon, and even that was only the demo when it was displayed in stores. i personally didn't really care for it much.

star ocean 4 i BELIEVE is coming to ps3.. not sure on that one.

in other words, from the list you provided, for the most part, 360 isn't worth spending money on when you can buy more games to just play on the ps3, because halo is an overused name/franchise. it just needs to die. why do you think ODST doesn't have master chief? they just want more money.

i've heard that gears of war 3 is going to be on the ps3, by the way. so if you really want gears of war, just wait for gears 3 while you play gears 1 on the pc.

also.. god of war? i personally have never played any of the god of war games, but i might actually pick up #3 because it looks so huge (you can play an entire level on the body of a god/titan that gets up and move at random.. and you have to adjust your play style accordingly. i mean, how can that not be fucking pwn?) plus, uncharted and soon to be uncharted 2.. for the fact that uncharted 1 came out in 2007, the game looks absolutely PHENOMENAL.

killzone 2.. nuff said. little big planet is totally fun, and has a limitless replay value because players can create their own levels.

in other words.. to answer your final question.. no. just buy extra games for your wii/ps3.

Crystal Defenders is out in Japan and PAL for PS3 and should be out soon for NA and Castle Crashers is coming out some time this year

And there is a huge possibility that Gears 3 is coming to PS3, since the contract between Epic and Microsoft was only to make the first two games, and Epic have already talked about the possibilities of multiplatform, and how it could be a good decision, which, if you ask me, is hinting that it's coming here... And yeah, you can buy the first for the PC, and the second will more than likely get ported to PC too, lol.

The new Banjo Kazooie game was a major letdown, it was waay too short, the 3D graphics were, in my opinion, terrible and too squared (Look at Banjo for gods sake !), and to be honest, Ratchet and Clank are my favourite video-game duo, so it's worth picking up Tools of Destruction, and Quest For Booty (Although the latter is only 5-6 hours max, but it isn't meant to be a fully fledged game... the first however (Tools of Destruction) can last way over 10-15 hours, and even longer if you're the type of peson that likes collecting all the weapons and such)

Call of Duty WaW is on the PS3 too anyways, so I don't see why you'd buy a new console for it... Crystal Defenders is on the PlaystationStore, so meh. Katarmari isn't TOO bad, however I think Noby Noby Boy is tons more random and you can have more fun since every level has a completely random layout with different people and things walking around, so I'd personally buy that instead (It's like £3.50 which is... $5 ?)

So what I'm basically saying, is keep your money and just spend it on more PS3 games to keep you entertained, lol. Besides, don't forget with the 360 you need to pay for the online anyways, although it might only be £40 (Uhh... $60 ?) a year, it all adds up if you think of the lifespan of the consoles, lol. I had a PS3 and wii and bought a 360 this year, haven't regretted it yet.

Bought Blue Dragon (which I actually really enjoyed), Star Ocean 4 (Gets better by the end of disc 1, voice acting is disgusting), Infinite Undiscovery (pretty rubbish), LOST ODYSSEY (Why have you not mentioned this... wasn't as good as I read it to be but replicates a high class ps1 / ps2 rpg in high res graphics)... Kameo, which I've yet to play, Left 4 Dead, TALES OF VESPERIA, even if it is coming to PS3 like a whole year later. Then you have both Gears like you said, Mass Effect. Only worrying thing is exclusives for the future, where are they? Halo and Alan Wake, that's pathetic.

Basically, if you want to play a lot of the back catalogue which has been accruing for 4 or whatever years, then there's definately enough there. As for the future, it's looking a bit slim currently but as a Universal console owner, I hope there are plenty exclusives for all consoles.

Yeah, kip, it's way worth it. Ignore the people whining about the five dollars a month for online play, because it's a LOT better than PSN in every way. Bomberman is great imo, as is Braid, Gears of War, WaW, and Beautiful Katamari. The others I never played.

Xbos 360 is trying to become a "broad entertainment console." They have a service for renting movies, a service for chatting, they have digital distribution through arcade games you buy online, Microsoft is doing what Microsoft always does, which is try to overwhelm the competition, those bastards. But yet again, Nintendo's sales prove that they will continue to dominate the video game industry. I am a fan so this holds bias, but it's also true in the numbers. Nintendo knows where the money is. The Xbox is counting on the "hype" factor, which was why Halo got such an enormous amount of fans in the first place. Xbox is "okay", but not only is it expensive, but its other services are expensive. In addition, it's "expensive" to even make games for it. The one thing that Microsoft did nicely was put out XNA, a toolkit that allows developers to create their own little games. Once they get approval from Microsoft, they can then put it on Live for people to buy. Thus, Microsoft is making it easier for developers to put out games in order to counter the expensiveness of game development.

If you have the money and you think you can afford Live, then go ahead and buy it. Just know that Microsoft hardly advertises that you'll be constantly spending money to do anything on Live, in addition to keep up its subscription. Again, they are counting on "hype." And with the money that company has, it was no wonder their presentations at this year's E3 was top of the line.

PS3 is still a yay or nay. It's funny that PS2 are continuing to sell more than the next gen console, which I believe Sony should invest most of their time in keeping going, maybe coming out with some add-ons and additional features like Nintendo is doing with their Wii. Pretty much, Sony is going to either gamble on a future success or will have to turn away from a lost of a lot of revenue in order to sit down and recuperate through more safe methods. So to me, if you get a PS3, find the 60 gig version. The one thing that pissed off a lot of consumers was that you couldn't play any PS2 or PS1 games on the later editions of the PS3.
