I've got both systems, and my PS3 has been faithful in every possible way, no overheating, no scratching of disks, no freezes.. meanwhile, my 360 has done all of the above. I have the "1st gen" PS3, meaning the 60gb with 4 controller ports (which don't matter because the controllers are wireless, to whoever said that the new PS3's have only 2 ports.. just means you can only plug in 2 usb peripherals at the same time)

Yeah I got the original 60GB with 4 USB slots, but you can plug USB HUB's into them anyways, my friend has an 80GB with 2 HUB's which both have 6 slots each, so he has 12 USB slots, lol.
yeah i got a 60GB. paid 750 Canadian with taxes -.- and a week later the price dropped lol. AND the only reason you will need 4 USB ports is for like rock band but it now comes with a USB hub. and my PSN is C-0719 i got like 30 games woot lol

Lol yeah, and if you ever DO need more spaces, just buy a HUB, I got a Belkin 6 slot HUB for £12 ($18), and damn you, I've only got 21 games, lol, oh well.

Ok, I seriously didn't think this thread was going to go this long (why can't I get this many responses on my RPG XP related questions?). But thanks for the responses. (you can keep going if you like.)

My reason for buying a 360 right now has mostly boiled down to price reasons. (So as far as that's concerned obviously the 360 wins here.) My PC's power right now is just fine, (it can play Crysis at an avg of 50-60 frames.) I never said I needed to upgrade. I mostly wanted to try out those adventure type games (where your basic attack usually invovles pushing a button, not moving the right stick and pushing the trigger) that seem to only release to consoles. (And probably ones in the past that never released to PC at all.) Plus I'd like to use my widescreen TV for more purposes than just looking at grainy cable. As far as games that release to console that eventually come to PC anyway, the thing is there probably will be OTHER games for the PC when they do come out, so at least I"ll have the 360 to try the exclusives out.

I'm going to see if my local Circuit City is selling one for cheap, otherwise I'm not getting one. It will just be like paying another bill...but not a recurring bill. Besides my friends all seem to have 360's so it would be nice to play with them on LIVE for once....even if it means it's a FPS game and I have to resort to a controller method. They have decent PC's too..but it seems they choose 360 simply for the use of their TV. Also, the recent Netflix deal REALLY sounds interesting. I'll probably still won't buy FPS games unless I really want to play it and it's not on PC. (It just seems like any game that is never released onto PC at the same time as the consoles NEVER get any attention, both in porting it properly AND people playing online, probably cause everyone already played it on consoles. *cough Saint's Row 2 cough)

Also, I have read various articles online that the 360 will soon support keyboard and a mouse. But those articles have also be written a few years ago. Can anyone confirm this? (I don't understand what's so difficult or taking them so long....both PC and XBOX use USB ports.)

My 360 is one of the first gens, and it can use my old PS2 keyboard just fine, no idea about a mouse.

@Mikee: Yes oblivion is better on the PC but the PS3 version is better then the 360 version. ALSO there is already a gamertag topic on top.

And the PC version can have all of the PS3 content.

The reason why I'm asking is because I don't want to buy a 360 right now and then they immediately come out with the XBOX 720, or whatever the next one will be called. When the first XBOX came out, I wasn't expecting it to be very popular and instead I saved my money for a gaming PC instead. And that's what I did. I now have a Vista rig with a 8800 GTX, a 3.0 Core 2 Duo, and 4 GB of RAM. I can run just about anything at a more than decent framerate with most if not all sliders turned up. I think the only game that does chug ever so slightly is Crysis. If not, the game is usually a port and therefore not optimized properly.

First, the plus sides on why I want to get a 360.
-One, my friend who I never see now execpt through webcams cause he's in the Navy in Japan, is on XBOX LIVE.

-There a few kind of games out there that I know that either never come out to PC, either because the controls wouldn't fair so well on a keyboard and mouse setup, or if they do, they take a while to get released and then they are even ported and run horribly. *coughSaint'sRow2cough* I'm talking 3rd person adventure games, like Prince of Persia, or Ninja Gaiden. I feel unfortuante never being able to play that, knowing how others say how good it is. I miss JRPG's, thanks to RPG XP, and since JRPGs now come to XBOX instead of just the PS2/3, I could try those too. Don't forget fighting games as well.

-I realize that my gaming has become quite expensive. Even though I haven't regretted the majority of the PC games I bought, there were a few duds, but dud or not, that's $50. Game companies nowadays seem to be experiencing brain farts and are making the same mistakes/using failed concepts over, and over, and over. I'm thinking of going back to renting games. Since I particuallry like FPS games only on PC, I can rent the game for 360 and if I like it, return it and buy it for PC. You can't "rent" computer games. You can only play demos, IF they make one. They're free, but they don't offer the entire game.

-There are also games that I'd really like to try nowadays, but wouldn't want to buy, or at least rent for the sake of adding content to my blog site. (see signature)

- I have a pair of THX certified speakers a big widsecreen TV...which I use to play only old PS2 games with, or watch non HDTV cable.

Now here's why I don't want one.

-Renting before buying puts the risk of not buying it on release date only to eventually like it after renting and find out they have no copies left, and so I'm stuck waiting weeks, if not an entire month for more to come in.

-I don't like playing FPS games on the 360, or ANY kind of console for that matter. And if I do suck up to buying one because it never comes to PC, I get pissed when they eventually DO release it to PC, and it actually fairs BETTER and have loads of 3rd party mods. (Like GTA San Andreas) After playing SOCOM for the PS2 when it came out, I never touched a console FPS again. Yes, I have yet to enjoy Halo 3 or even Halo 2 simply because of this fact. I just cant' stand using two sticks which force me to aim in completely straight lines and have to apply different amounts of pressure with just my thumbs missing my target because I pushed slightly too hard or slightly too little. I could aim at someone's head moving my entire arm with a mouse in a fraction of the time. (Trying writing a sentence with just holding the pen with your thumbs and not all your fingers.) If the game is released for both console and PC at the same time, I'll choose the PC. I spent so much damn money for a gaming rig when PC gaming was the way to play FPS games back in the Counterstrike days, taking it away from consoles, and now everyone is back on the consoles again, simply because a console is more affordable. I smell bullshit.

-The games that have any kind of decent mulitplayer for 360 nowadays is only FPS games, FPS games I'd rather play on the PC given the chance.

-Other than my friend, the thought of being forced to hear 6 year olds (or adults with the brain capacity of 6 year olds) scream obscenities and other pointless remarks in my ear due to the lack of a keyboard on LIVE is giving me the willies.

-I reserved and have bought a Collector's Edition of MGS4. And I have no PS3. The game is rotting in my closet, hell the plastic is still on it. I figured get the game now, and wait for the PS3 to get cheaper, but a frikin year has gone by and I still don't see that happening anytime soon.

Well there you go. Given the reasons, should I get a 360?

Okay you're a total faggot and I feel like stabbing you with a blunt object,

The PS3 has the lowest breakdown rate of all three consoles, and you can't go anywhere without hearing about a 360 breaking, so your first point is a piece of bullshit fanboyism.

No rumours for the next XBOX, are you joking ? It's coming out in 2012, while the PS4 is coming out in 2016, which means the PS3 is sticking to the 10 year lifespan.
All the good PS3 games are PS3 Exclusive so they're not on the 360, and the 360 has NO real exclusives for the fact that Gaylo and Queers of War are on the PC, thats NOT exclusive.
PS3 has Bioshock you nab, it just came out later with supposedly improved graphics, haven't checked it out yet.
AMG NOOB, Fallout 3 came out at the same time on PS3 as it did on the 360 so stop with the bullshit,
Fallout 4 (If true) and Bioshock 2 are coming out on the PS3, do you never read that part or just say

"Oh god I read the word 360, I must masturbate over my gay fanboyism".

Just cause you like one console doesn't mean you have to TRY and make a mockery of the other, even though you did try and clearly failed, next time read a book or better yet, use the box your typing on to search the net.

If you call me a fanboy, nope, I'm not a fanboy, I do prefer the PS3 though, but I'll admit it does have some flaws and there's ONE game I really wish was coming out for the PS3 which is Dead Rising cause I love that game. When you start shitposting about a console, make sure you have proof to back it up.

Have a nice day

jbirst Dead Rising 2 is coming to ps3

OH GOD IF THATS TRUE I SWEAR I'M GONNA HUMP THE LEG OF EVERYONE AT CAPCOM !

Edit---

Just checked, YES IT IS !

Although I don't see how the game can be better than the first in a Casino, I mean, how many items are there to use in a Casino compared to a huge ass shopping mall ?

Been said alot of times i see .
But I'd go with the Ps3 . I think the games are better (Or its just I always prefered the Ps-consoles above the others) :
- Litle big planet
- Killzone (I know you don't like FPS but )
- Resistance 2 (again FPS but , ..)
- Valkyrie chronicle's
- (Final Fantasy versus 13 look dashing so far , but isn't released and not so much known)
- and go on ..

The controller is WAAY better and not as big as the 360 (which was huge)

- Fallout 3 and 4 are coming on PS3 also
- Ps3 got more games pc doesn't gets then xbox
- Ps3 isn't released so long ago so that explains why there are so litl exclusive's for ps3
- Your friend can't handle a ps3 , Got mine for ages still working perfect and its used olmost daily .
ow did I mention the controller size of xbox being to big ??

conclusion , i'd go with ps3 or just stick to the PC (and upgrade if needed)
