Wow, Vember. This is a very good Tutorial. I'm very impressed, my boy. Perhaps you should do one on Potions afterwards. :)

This is a very good tutorial. I'm making some icons right now, thanks to you ;) fire sword is up next! Great work!

P.S. I think you should make your next entry about crystals!

Thanks.. I'll probably do crystals next then. But finding a decent angle may be tough.

Also, does anyone wanna share any icons they've made with this tut? It would be interesting to see, lol.

Ah.. I find the way the broken sword is made a little odd, gravity wouldn't keep the two pieces together, I say just split in somewhere near the middle, and lose the top piece.

I believe the reasoning is symbolic, not realistic. If that makes any sense to you. :-/

@Vember : Good job mate.

EDIT: Man, I always think of something else to say after I post. Going with what I said previously Mujklob, suppose a sword wasn't the issue. Instead for instance the staff Vember sprited was broken and shown the shame way. Now take the top piece off of the staff...it would look a bit strange wouldn't it? Sometimes eye candy is necessary as descriptions don't really take.

It's more to be symbolic than to actually depict a broken sword. It's just an icon :P

But I do get what he was saying about splitting it in the middle and trashing the top piece.

@Vember: In one word, damn man this tutorial owns you have no idea how much this helps me, thank you matey. :D

P.S. There's just a few things I have no idea about but what does .jpgs .png .gif mean and what are the differences?
And I feel pretty noob asking what tut means

Bump!
This needs to be sticky

.jpg saves the file as a full picture not transparent background.
.png saves the file with the transparent background. (high quality)
.gif is the same as .png but usually decreases the file quality. (low-med quality).

Tuts is short for tutorial/s.

.jpg does a sort of anti-aliasing which just basically blurs the hell out colour edges, works fine for photos and so on, but horrible for spriting.
