I really wish I could help with that but I haven't seen/played them all. But from my personal experience with Tales of... games for PS2, I would go with Tales of Symphonia. (I've only seen/played Tales of Symphonia and Tales of Legendia, and imo Tales of Legendia was poop)

Tales of the Abyss, for sure. Also, I dunno if you've already played it, but Odin Sphere was quite good. Plus, you can pick it up for like, 10 bucks now.

Also try Romancing Saga - It is the only game I know that drops you off in the middle of no where and doesn't tell you where to go or what to do and still be an amazing game.

I just checked youtube and there seems to be two different Romancing Sagas.The one I'm talking about though is this one.

Err.... Phantom Brave! This SRPG from Nippon Ichi is surely lacking attention.
Battle mode is a little bit confusing, but it's similiar with disgaea + makai kingdom (both from the same developer). 

It is fun nevertheless.

PB is fucking annoying and has a terrible story. Imo just skip it, its just another forgetable nis rpg

It has nothing to do with gender prefrence. The game was just bad. The battle system was very innovative and I liked it but it was just recycled from Soul Nomad, which was another peice of shit.

Disgaea II was no where as good as the first one, but it was colorful. Plus the story was awful in it. OS was mighty fun, though, until it gets repetitive. Love the OST.

Tsugunai: Atonement was completely unknown. It wasn't a bad game but I definitely wouldn't call it good either. It had an interesting premise though - you play as a ghost who can possess different citizens of a town and help them with their problems.

i completely forgot about that game. i can't really remember too much about it except that it had an interesting battle system and it got kind of boring after a while, but if you really want to play something completely off the radar then i would recommend this. (like i said i can't remember anything about it though so if it's complete shit don't blame me ;o)

So you have tried Final Fantasy X....but you have not playued the games previous to that have you????....You know final fantasy 6( i think was made on ps1),7,8,9....all on PS1 however are awesome....then you wuld playe Final Fantasy X-2 right...coz it is awesome...and who duznt like to play as a girl only Final Fantasy....I have inly just got it been looking for it for 3 years and only just got it yesterday....its faboulous btw...ive played it before....but there is not the better feeling of owning it yourself right????

Then you should play Final Fantasy 12....go straight past 11 coz its on Xbox 360 and its online...take forever to get......im going back to ff1 and 2 dawn of souls....ive got ff3 i want 4,5,6,7,8 and 9...then i want ff7 for the ps3...and final fantasy 13 as well...

oh and Kingdom Hearts finished both ps2 games loved them to bits....especially coz it has my fav final fantasy character in it....Cloud....yay...go spiky emo blonde guy..with big sword( which if you relaised it is because he has penis envy with sephiroth so he needs a bigger sword....lol)

I beat X-2 last night, its pretty cool, but DEFINETLY not for everyone, parts of it feel like a disney channel movie they are so cheesy.Also i want to warn, Stay away from Breath of fire V :Dragon quarter. Horribly, and it will make you hate the old ones.

AAHH you're kidding me right!?  They changed the entire fucking soundtrack up, took out all the classic Woolsey-isms, and renamed all the spells and shit so it can line up with all the other new-school shitty FF games

the sounds were a direct port from the SNES version, but the GBA's sound is monophonic whereas the SNES/PSX's sound is stereophonic so it sounds terrible. Yeah, it was shitty sound, but it wasn't because they made it bad, it's because they didn't make it good.
