[Full Game]Absence of Vagaries I: Blood Rose

Thank you very much! That bird puzzle was tricky, I ended up remembering there was something there by looking at the event map (yes, I'm a cheater Y_Y the only way I could beat the guards was by giving the heroes an extra 2 levels to start :( And even then it was just -barely-)

Note that was after 5 tries and running out of healing items and stamina, so I was unable to level really xD

That's why I leave the game unencrypted =D
See I know all of the secrets to beating the enemies and even I sometimes have troubles, so I figured others would. I leave the grounds for cheating open. I'm just glad you're playing it and enjoying it.

great game! i've been playing it for the past hour. the stats are set perfectly to make it so you really have to think about what move you will make next. awesome mapping, as well. 10/10 in my opinion :P

oh, and right when you get off the boat while heading to ottrwey for the first time, in the mountain area there is a map with a "magic" bridge (it appears when you step/click on a certain tile) that leads into a hole on the other side of the pond... what exactly is that for? it doesnt lead anywhere, its just a hole in the wall of the map.

That place leads to the secret areas where you get the ultimate weapons, but you have to do all the prior side quest before you can enter that place.

The only thing is that 80% of the spells were pretty much useless to use though. Also you might want to give some healing item drops from the monsters in the future ^^ ones that heal vitality and stamina that is ;)

I only used Aris Cross, Stars, and Cut Throat really >_> maybe a skill that heals HP would be a good idea. Nice ending though, definitely a bit unexpected :O

Advice though to players, if you can somehow make it to the town in the snow continent, get the upgrades there, and then go and do some leveling in Matriarch. You can sell the drops you get for the 10 cur full heal over and over until you're ready for the harpies and snow wolves :) Also, the sidequests -really- help, if you're strong enough to beat the monsters.

PS. Make the moss stick more useful :P I held onto that wretched thing forever thinking it was a sidequest item. xD

heh, I was reluctant to get rid of that mossy stick, for the same reason (the sidequest thing), but when I get back on, ill get rid of it for a whole 1 cur! w00t! :P

i might make a walkthrough for this game, if it's alright with JStreet, since it's his game. btw, big emphasis on might :D

O.o ok now I'm skeptical about the Mossy Stick thing, because I don't really recall what it's for if it is for anything special. :-/

You can make a walk through if you feel up to it. I was going to make a players guide myself, but I haven't had the time lately.

ill write a short walkthrough i guess :)

JStreet, how about i PM you the walkthrough and you add it to your first post? I'll start work on the first part right now.

instead of just typing up the guide in MS Word or something, I plan on using a blank page on geocities, i've got the basics set up, and when im done with the first section, ill PM you the link to it ;)

and I'll just update it as i go through the game, and I'll also post in this thread when a new version of the walkthrough is done.

I think after you finish the further episodes or whatever, you should revise the graphics. RTP makes your game less... yours? But the graphics aren't the most important thing in a game, fortunately.

Yay! It is possible for someone other than me to beat this game! :D

For those having trouble I'm re-doing stats to make things a bit easier. I know it's too hard for you guys, when I'm having troubles beating it. :P

heh, i beat it awhile ago :P no cheating either, i got the ultimate weapons, and I kept training a bunch in ottrwey before heading to the Rune Temple. Beat Gola on my first try :). also, about the walkthrough, i just dont have the time to work on it much, plus you know the game better than I do. I might get around to making a walkthrough later on, but not right now, I'm pretty busy lately. This weekend has been one hell of a busy weekend for me.

Walk throughs are fairly time consuming to make. I can understand why you didn't do it. I'll get around to it some time...this year...I hope. >_>

I thought the difficulty level was perfect; it was hard and took some leveling up, but not impossible. I found it very enjoyable, and I especially like the ending...sad and intriguing. Makes me want to know what happens next. ><

Well, truthfully AoV II in it's original state is a horrible depiction of how the series continues. It skips out on a lot of important facts that deal with Azazule and Leiagos' relation. It also skips out on Azazule's situation with the templar (which some of you know what happens, but I won't spoil it.)

i could help out here and there, if you want.
