But maybe it just look GOOD in the trailers?
If you've ever watched trailers for other FF games, you'll note that they *never* show gameplay. It is always movies or cutscenes.
Also, wasn't it FFXIII where they said they couldn't even fit the entire game onto one 360 disk (no room for Japanese voices/text)? Granted, I don't give 2 shits what languages are or are not on there as long as English is, this could have something to do with why the game is so linear, with no townspeople or cities/towns at all. On the other hand, a great game like Borderlands comes out with somewhat impressive graphics (cell-shade are fake graphics, btw, but that's another topic), huge world and *TONS* of weapons/equipment, and that fit completely onto one disk. Then there's GTA IV, with its massive open world and amazing physics and graphics, and I guess a decent story (I never played it very far because the game was boring as utter shit. Saint's Row 2 is so much better)?
My whole point is, they wanted to create a huge, impressive game, but apparently they've hit some snags by bringing it onto the 360, and this is possibly why the game is so linear. And, again, on the other hand, those other games made impressive, massive worlds just fine.. what is Squeenix's excuse? They're obviously not the amazing people they thought they were.
