Final Fantasy VI SDK - Going Social!

I mean, assuming you meant to say that you couldn't understand what I was getting at, will this also serve as a playable/functional game?  I mean, will I be able to play FF6 using only RMXP and the SDK?

I will make my own remake of the game but it won't comme with the SDK. This is only a tool to help make FF fan games based on FF6 systems. I provide Graphics, Audio, Database, Scripts to make a game.

I think he meant are you going to remake a copy of the Final Fantasy 6 game using this SDK and include it so that he can refer to it when making his own game.

Btw is the Rpg Advanced Editor still being worked on? The forum hasnt had anything posted on it for a while and i dont wana be the first as last time i got banned for necroposting?

(Bit unfair as the topic i wrote on was in the same month but 2007 and it was 2008 lol. Oh well no harm)

The RPGAE is in a slowdown right now. We all have not much free time to work on it. I haven't heard from Kratos (one of the RPGAE Members) for a while. vgvgf is still working on the VB part of it but he doesn't have a lot of free time, and me neither.

And I guess zeus' question has been answered above ;)

WOW dude you managed to keep this up for 2 years! you must be a freaking good scripter and have a lot of patience unlike me. LOL. well yeah I just read through the Whole thread! and got here I even decided to download the game and It is really nice! I would like to help you and I would but I don't know much about how to rip and script. so yeah I will try and see if there is anyway I can help because I am always happy to help anyone who needs it. Besides the more we help the sooner this thing gets out! don't give up on this and I am looking forward to your next demo!

Keep up with the good work and I look forward to see more of your work soon!

Thanks! I really appreciate it :)
If you want to help, then the only thing I need right now are Graphics and Sounds. Sounds are not easy to rip and it needs a LOT of patience :P I did like 10 SFX in 1 hour last week. O.o It'S probably because I'm slow but at least I get the quality :)
I want to do everything that's related to programming myself. The only "custom scripts" I use are MGC's Mode7 and the RMXP SDK 2.4. Everything else is done by me. But I have modified them A LOT. Especially the Mode7 Script. I also did a lot of changes to the SDK::Scene_Base class.

Now, I little update about the demo.
The bad news first, the game is still crashing. The good news about it is that it's not random. I've noticed that the crash happens only on scene change, after a transition. I don't know what I'm going to do to fix that, but at least I know when it happens!

The good news! I have spoke to MGC a few times last week and he came up with a nice new little feature for the upcomming updat of the Mode7 script. Now with that, the Airship system will be almost perfect. Pixel movement in all 360 directions, increasing/decreasing slopes from left to right on the map when turning at high speed, etc. will make this system fast, fluid and totally awesome :) I'll try to finish it for the upcomming demo. Also, I have made 2 videos showing the mode7 and particle system in action. The problem is that I need to find a computer with a fast internet connection. I'm still on a dial up connection >_>

More to come soon!

Have you got any idea when the new demo will be ready?
No rush low.
When you do release it ill combe my way through it and i bet you any money i can find the cause of that crash. I always had a talent for finding potential problems lol.
Really looking forward to it man.

BTW where will will go to see the videos?

If I have enough free space on my site, they'll be uploaded there. Otherwise I will upload them on youtube and link them to ff6sdk.webs.com

And I don't want to give a date for the demo. In case something happens and I have to postpone it, I don't want people to complain about it :thumb:

Cool I am really looking forward to the SDK and will be glad to get some sounds and graphics just keep on working! I
have been looking forward to this from the second I read the first post! also if you can post a list of some of the sounds and graphics you need Like some of the animations? it would help out a lot!

@Lorddarkfrog
I'll make a list of what I already have instead of what I need. It will be easier that way :)

Also, I'm almost done with the airship and the chocobo. I just need to incorporate a 360o movement system and fix a couple of bugs with the map zoom/angle. After that, I'll upload a video on Youtube.

Take care!

I had another account on here somewhere, but I forgot what it was, so meh. :P

If you need webspace, I've got plenty on kefkastower.net. Also this is possibly the most epic RPG Maker-related project I've seen, ever. :O

Hey man,

Just got me computer up and running again wahoo! Anyway looking forward to seeing the airship vid. Looking forward even more to the next demo. Keep us posted.

Hey guys, thanks for the comments :)

I've been working on the airship this week end and I have finally been able to implement 360o movements!! :) the airship osn't 100% perfect but it's only a couple of details away.
Also, I'll forget the Chocobo for the next demo. It's not working at all.

I'll record 2 vids this week, I'll compress them as much as possible and I'll post them on my side (via youtube).

Take care!

Are you gonna throw any of your own unique features into this or are you gonna stick to exactly what Final Fantasy had? Just curious.

Personally id go with just the Final Fantasy stuff as people can add anything else they decide they want lol.

Looking good low Dargor

Q.Are you going to add some extra features, from other FF games... like jobs, casinos, card games, limits....?
A.No. Since it is a FF6 SDK, the only "extra features" I might add are FF6 Advance features.

:)
