Is this still going?
I dropped a $700 iPad on a highway and didn't realize it until 30 minutes later. I still have (most) of it, though it doesn't work very well.

EDIT: Forgot to mention this was iPad number two, which I had received four days earlier after iPad Number one stopped working after I dropped it at work.

this is probably cheating since it's not me that was a big goober but it's too good not to share!
last night I got a call from one of my friends, he's got this weird edge to his voice and sounds like he's about to go ballistic. he begs me to come over asap and refuses to explain what's going on. I rush over, pajamas on and all, walk in his apartment - and he's sitting on the top of the refrigerator clutching a meat cleaver with a white-knuckle deathgrip
I ask him what the fuck and he points to the chair on the other side of the wall, explaining that he saw a big snake in the kitchen and freaked out, and it slithered out and under the chair while he flailed around like a big sillybaby
so I grab a broom and get ready to flip the chair over and shoo the snake outside - I'm expecting something like a cornsnake or def. worst case scenario, a water moccasin - and when the chair flips there's this tiny, cute little grass snake. (they're about as thick as a pencil and not much longer!) I just picked the damn thing up and carried it outside. he didn't even crawl down from the fridge until after I came back in.
I think I'm... gonna enjoy having some good old-fashioned blackmail material

water moccasins and eastern diamondbacks chill in my garage sometimes, esp in the winter. they like to coil up behind the water heater mostly. never very big (have to be small enough to fit through the cracks around the garage door).
i get concerned about my cats sometimes, and i always make sure to have the lights on in the garage when i enter it ... but otherwise they're not that worrisome. they're only there to warm up and then head out on their way.
when i have to get rid of one, i just wave a mophandle in front of its face to distract, then sweep it out with a broom in the other hand like it's a hockey puck.
you cant make any sudden movements with your body. like with most animals you just have to act confident
they rattle and act all tough but they're p dumb
heh speaking of sillybillies though similar to your story moe, i was at my bf's mom+dad's house a few weeks ago, out on the porch. i heard a giant commotion all of a sudden from the family room.
so we run in and his mom & sister were screaming (blood-curdling full-on screams) and going "kill it! kill it!"
there was an adorable little flatwoods salamander on the recliner. probably no longer than my palm.
picked it up in a paper plate (oil from your skin can discomfort them) and put it out near the lake.
the whole time the girls were shuddering and gagging about it
the funny thing is,
it's florida
you can't walk 3 steps w/o wandering into a toad or a lizard or a giant bug

This time she came runnin into the kitchen, got scared by my mum (for no apparent reason), and
made a mid-air 180 to face-plant....

me and my sis fed them a whole bunch of beeferoni and stuff, and kept feeding them for a while. my parents didn't let us have actual pets in the house, but so they hanged out around the property, same thing as pets.
then the femme got pregnant by some tom across the yard- 4 more cats. then some other cat got pregg'd by the male we had-three more cats. then suddenly like two more random cats appeared- 2 more cats. On a visit to a friend of the parent's, we found a lovable and starving cat whom we fed and basically homebroke in an hour- 1 more cat.
so idk math, but there are like 13 cats around the neighborhood, mostly centered around our property, of which i can touch/interact with roughly 9 of them with.
my sister left, officially making me (if my parents don't count) the crazy cat person whom i always thought my sister would be (she admitted it herself)
