I'm not upset that people don't like the blue. But that doesn't mean that I have this "fuck you all I love blue its my favorite color  I painted my walls blue, my skin blue, my world blue" attitude. I just like the way the game looks for now, and maybe (probably) I'll release another seperate version without colors (RGB) will be equal, all at 0 brightness.

I may release this version after C2. But there wont be a whole new project thread again, because I wont have changed antyhing but the colors.
 
I'm not going to play either way since I don't like horror games (and that's a purely personal choice), but:

With the blue. I like the colorscheme I chose. Colorscheme does not affect the gameplay in anyway. I do not make games for you Despain.

Why bother asking for opinions if all you do is shrug them off as worthless? Not everyone here is an incompetent fool that will bow down to your rather abhorrent color scheming and play the game anyway.

Dark is good. Too dark is bad. You apparently tried to fix it, good. Now the game is TOO BLUE, which is bad. Being a bad thing, you should address this NOW, not LATER. I understand following your design vision and producing a game you'd like, but unless you intend this game to be played by no one, I'd listen to the majority of people (not a minority as you seem to think) saying that it's TOO DARK and TOO BLUE and FIX IT. You can't be arsed fixing something that makes your game worse? Why should we be arsed playing it then? Why are you going to waste your time releasing a blue chapter when NO ONE IS GOING TO BLOODY PLAY IT UNLESS YOU TONE DOWN THE FUCKING BLUE ASDASDASDASDASDASDASASDASDASDAS

I'm going to be a little bitch and still release the Deep version as blue, but I'll change the Lite version to ... not blue. This might push it back past may 1st though.

Honestly, no one told me it was too blue until just recently, or at least, I don't remember it. x.o; But I'll see what I can do. I'm sorry I've been so stubborn.
 
Okay guys, I think everybody got their point across, so let's not keep dragging this on here. Everybody have their own preferences, the author and critics alike. It is ultimately up to the author to determine whether or not to take in the critics' suggestions. If an opinion is way out of bound for the author's own preferences, then let the author sort it out, since he has the main saying.

In the end, if people don't like something, they won't play it. So to those who like it and are determined to keep it; sure. And to those who don't like it and already gave out suggestions about it; let nature sort it out from now on. No need to keep up the fuss. :smile:

I've go the picture that the colors are pretty unpopular. You probably wont play it, but the Lite version will address the view that blue sucks.

It was, if you learn to read it beyond face value. I don't want to do this since I know that it's going to be completely ignored, but sometimes it has to be done.

Now that you've shown us what it looks like without the screen tint, it's evident that you were using the insane amounts of blue in order to cover some things up.

Your zombies look like utter shit, and you tilesets are ugly, and out of place.

Your zombie sprites and tilesets are inconsistent with each other and with the hero sprite. Pick one style and stick with it. Inconsistency is graphics is one of the biggest turn-offs in an RPG Maker game, and your game seems to be a really good example of inconsistency taken to the extreme. For example, try putting one of your zombies and your hero next to each other, and the differences are clearly evident.

Way to try to disguise the crap, chum!

It seems as though you were aware of these problems and tried to hide them under the blue overlay. Unfortunately this is a very sloppy and lazy method, and it would be more beneficial to you and your project if you tried to work more with the graphics themselves rather than making use of cheap tricks.

Okay, well, the police station and subway were designed for the blue, so ... I'm sorry if they don't look so hot.

I did not think my graphics looked bad however, But I felt the colorscheme unified them.

It was never a cover up. I just thought it looked good. :(
 
If you'd listened to people in July 2007, you might have a good game on your hands now. Your pigheadedness has pretty much destroyed this game.

Learn from it.

Crepusculum in 2007 was successful.

I do, however, think that it would have been cooler if there was a little more character development (and maybe another boss fight or two, but that matters less to me than the characters). I'm in the police station, on the third floor. I've just finished the puzzle where one finds the 3rd floor key and I've gone into the Chief's room, but I don't quite understand the hint paper: "The Missing Files, left to right?" Any hint as to what I do next?

That was a really fun game, I really really enjoyed it, and that's saying a lot because I normally don't like playing horror survival games. I'm very easily scared and I jumped more than once playing this game. XD The puzzles were nicely done and not too difficult to solve.

I'm not too sure what exactly happened at the end of the game... but using all the notes and pages to develop the back story and what's actually happening in the game was a nice add and I'd say it was effective enough.

By the way, I scored a Rank D, hahaha XD;;; Hey, it's still passing, right? ;_; Too bad I didn't get to unlock any of the extra cutscenes. Maybe I'll replay it to get a higher rank but right now I think my eyes are a little sore at all the dark tones, so I'll give it a try another time.

WHATS FUNNY IS I CANT FIND ANY NEGATIVE COMMENTS ON THE RELEASE OF THE ORIGINAL GAME.

For those of you who don't remember, before the academy section was reworked, there was some sort of a assignment to make a horror game. After the results of the the assignment, Rye, I believe it was, was disappointed with the etnries because they did not reach the same level of quality I reached with the original Crepusculum, pertaining to the atmosphere.

So, it is not as if no one has ever considered playing Crepusculum because it is oh-so-dark and oh-so-blue. Many people enjoyed the original game. For those of you who feel that is too dark, there will be a lighter option. For those of you who feel it is too blue don't play it.

Nobody gave a shit about the original game. Of all those posts that you quoted, only one of them is an active member who I know and respect. I'm pretty sure I never made a single reply to it, or else I would have said something negative.

We have higher standards now than this forum did back then.

Stop bitching, suck it up, and accept the fact that your game isn't flawless. Otherwise you're looking at a warn and possibly a temporary ban. Being able to accept criticism is an important part of being a member here.
