Hello everyone.  My name is Star.  I approve of this game.  I give it a 5 out of 5 for scariest RMXP game of all time.  And, I must say it is the best game I have yet to play on this forum.  I couldn't of imagined how well a horror game could turn out on a RPG maker..  But Ceru has done a really impressive job.

First and foremost I'd like to mention that I am the Beta Tester for Ceru's project, and I've already test played C:X helping with a few bugs here and there to prep the game for it's final release.  Which is gonna be really soon.

I've helped Ceru on a few things.  But mostly he's done a great work all by himself.  He is a really great game maker and I can't wait for him to release it to you all so you can see how awesome it is.  And I must say, about that Darkness, I didn't see it that bad in my game.  If anything.. IT ENHANCES the SCARY FACTOR. Lol.. For real.

Also.. look forward to seeing the ultimate elevator.

The only thing I can really go on and on about are your graphics. Everything else is fine though, but all those different graphic styles are killing the mood, or so to speak. You should get yourself a spriter (or sprite everything yourself) ;)
I'm Ceru's new Spriter.

Well, about spriting - I do not feel as if a bigger spriting style would achieve a better effect. I feel as if the RTP worked will in the end, for the size of the project. A bigger spriting style was attempted for another game but it ended up feeling like even less detail than the RTP.

Second, the brightness of the game has actually been increased - it is most likely your screen that is not bright enough, glare, or such other factors. It's also much easier to see when there isn't as much contrast, or if its full screen.

Third, it should be released soon, maybe May 1st!

I haven't looked at a single screenshot of these games in like a year now.

I can see that you never fixed the biggest flaw that I brought up when you first showed them- they're way too dark. It doesn't add atmosphere when you can see a 4 pixel radius, just unfair.

I seem to have talent in make a fool of myself.

Basically, the game will include a Lite system that will be brighter.

You're supposed to be selling the game to me with those screenshots. You can't then say that I am incorrect because "the brightness of the entire game has been increased"- update your screenshots then!

As it has been an ongoing thing with you stating you can see everything fine and many saying they can't, I suggest you calibrate your monitor:

I rewrote this one too:

Click here to help me adjust the brightness of the sewer. This is the map you have the problem with, right holloway? I don't know, because you never told me.

New screenshots have been added.

An extra file with an explanation of the events in Crepusculum may be included, because I am considering not releasing C2, which explains many of the mysteries of the original game.

I have implemented a Lite system. It is generally 10 points lighter than the original "Deep" version of the game. It may be selected at the beginning of the game for those of you who feel the game is too dark to see on your screens.

Expect this to be released May 1st. I will probably not be uploading it more than once.

Check the screenshots thread for July 2007. I did tell you then, as did Stevo and a Des account, and you just said "your monitors must be wrong".

Edit: Lo and fucking behold, you did it again. Forget it, I give up on these games.

Jesus H. tap-dancing Christ! How can anyone get through this game? Those screens are so fucking dark. What are you thinking???

I would take Despain's advice from your little thread, and desaturate the blue, and... Just ugh.

They're not dark on my screen. I don't understand. But there will be a lite system. I will try to hurry it up so I can release it May 1st and be done with it.

The brightness of any given map is never below -10, but I suppose that is only visible on any computers I ever use.

it's not JUST THE BRIGHTNESS that matters jesus fucking christ can you not GET THIS THROUGH YOUR HEAD the BLUE LOOKS LIKE SHIT

i give up. i don't even want to help you any more and frankly if you're so OPPOSED TO ACCEPTING ADVICE FROM PEOPLE WHO DO THIS BETTER THAN YOU AND HAVE BEEN AT IT LONGER THAN YOU i'd encourage you to reconsider the choice to be a member of this forum

Thank you for your opinion. I like the blue. I'll probably be releasing it tomorrow as a premature version. With the blue. I like the colorscheme I chose. Colorscheme does not affect the gameplay in anyway. I do not make games for you Despain.

Sorry that I don't make games the way you feel that I should.

But I've realized that the 3 years I've spent making this game were worthless. So I will be releasing C:X shortly and C2 before it is actually complete. I will not be adjusting the brightness on C2 for its release even though I feel as if it should be lighter.

STOP BEING A TREMENDOUS DOUCHE, YOU TREMENDOUS DOUCHE!

You asked for opinions, and advice. You ignored them, despite the fact that you ASKED FOR THEM, and they were very valid. THE BLUE LOOKS LIKE SHIT.

Stop being such a fagget.

I'm not going to go back through all my maps and change them. Its just not worth it.

I changed it so that they didn't look blue and I felt like the game looked terrible. I asked for opinions on the brightness in the game, because I wanted to address the concern that the game would be too dark to play. I was not interested in changing the style of the game.

THEN WHY THE CUNT DID YOU ASK FOR OPINIONS ON WHETHER IT WAS TOO DARK OR WHATEVER

GET THE FUCK OUT OF OUR FORUMS YOU MAKE EVERYTHING SHITTY GO AWAY

ok guys, nothing more to see here.

i don't want this to get out of hand and i don't want to have to do anything responsible like actually moderate, so i'd suggest that anyone with actual feedback for this topic just ignore this thread (and ceru) for the time being.

k well, I'll be releasing it soon so that I can be done with all of this bullshit.

Your intention was never to help me fix the  brightness issue, but to change the colorscheme you didn't like. Sorry that I disagreed with the way I wanted my game to look.

Why do I always have to be the mediator?  :|

Yes, Lummy was a bit out of line, but both him and Des have a point.  No power on this earth would make me play your game, because the screens are horribly dark and the blue color just makes it worse.  It's not adding atmosphere, it's making me want to delete it from my harddrive.

Instead of saying, "Well _I_ like it, so the rest of you can fuck off", why don't you actually take their advice to heart?

I understand what they're saying. It is a blue game and I can see where that culd turn a lot of people off, or where people don't really want to play a game that is so dark.

Currently I only really plan to release the game with a Lite option that increases the brightness of the original screentones.

Maybe, in the future, I will release a version with all of the screentone change events deleted - but at the same time would those who do not like the blue want to play the game in the first place? I don't know. MISSINGNO. certainly has no interest in my game blue or no blue.

Of course comments like "GET THE FUCK OUT OF OUR FORUMS YOU MAKE EVERYTHING SHITTY GO AWAY" really make me want to listen.

*sigh*  Then don't do it.  If you don't want to change what people more or less unanimously consider bad and then piss and moan about people not liking your style, then it's not worth the effort.
