Clest character and mech templates

Well I didn?t make the arms move because it would look too human and my concept for mech is not to waste movents (energy) with uncessary moves (like, in battle, it?s standing pose is stactic instead of the usual legs moving). Though I might add some shoulder movement and see if it looks decent without looking too natural :P

As for color and back changes, fine, as I said before, I don?t use the colored version and the details on this template are just guides to place other stuff (for instance, I never use the stuff on the template?s back, I either add some backpack or thrusters).

Lastly: Yes, I made my avatar using this template XD Regarding transformation template: It won?t do because each transformation is different, this one I made based on the actual transformation from Optimus Prime, while most transforming mechs in my game follow more of a Zeta Gundam/Veritech fighter transformation, but all with variations and such.

Well transformations go beyond spriting, you must understand then which comes from mechanical design too. In fact, my biggest challenge so far in my game will be a bigger mech, formed by four ships which combine, I must make all of then proportional and matching together :)
 
wow...well if you ever make some usual vehicles i.e.car,truck,van,etc. can you send them to me woth their awesome transformation? i will use your name in my credits...
 
Well every NPCs, NPC mechs and vehicles I make for my game will be given frely on a resource topic and on my site (when I get to make one). But most transformable mechs I make will be Air/Space fighter jets since mechs can do well on ground combat :P
 
I like the blond and the redhead you made using the temp which is a lot since I don't care much for the tiny sprites. but I must ask , why does it look like the pixels have been smudged for the hair ...
 
Becaopuse in some of then I tried to use a gradient photoshop brush... the effect wasn't bad, but not great either XD

I agree with you, it was just an experiment, after that I gave up on gradient tools (I used it for tilesets too) and I am happy with my current style.

Glad to receive comments from such a talented spriter :)

Commented then in your topic, but again, nice to have more examples of work made with my template, would like to see some females made by you sometime :) Thanks for posting.
 
Hmm..mech templates are good but I'd like to see the mech animations shaded and maybe a few weapons added. (they could be used to make some pretty good battlers)
 
Thanks! As for shading the animations, maybe sometime, but I hardly use pre-shaded templates for mechs since adding armor ends up making you shade the whole thing again differently.

But weapons and even armor parts from the mechas for my game will be made public once I have some database on then, so ppl can even franken sprite easily with then :)
 
That'll be good, I've wanted to make a small sci-fi game for a while (not as a main project since I already have one) maybe something with an hour of gameplay, but I'm a horrible spriter. (actually if I had a series of separate mech parts I could script it so that the player could equip different parts and each part would show up on the battler....) huh I really wanna do this now.  :grin:
 
Ice: Yeah some ppl suggested me to do that, but I decided to go with specific mech types for my game, though I would still want to see someone using the mix and match concept from Front Mission in RM :)
I will also make poublic all my tilesets made for the mech+small charset I use so if you care for proportions it would look fine as if the mechas are about 4,5meters tall. But will take a while :(

I used your tiny template for a soldier for my  game, I'm planning on using it as the tactic battle humans sprites.. Great work on all of these.

Oh nice! When you can, post your small charsets here or send me a pm, just for me to see, I started on small chars myself, but have yet to finish them up :P
