lol, the whole project? I've got story boards for chapters 1~3 pretty solidly planed, and the last to sketched out, but for time line of construction? I'm guessing that o finish everything, would take me probably another 2 years XD

But the game right now is in it's open beta stage, I've only put up the demos at RMRK and PhanxGames, so you can check em' out there if you like, I'm waiting for the completion of the whole first chapter before I put it up on pro sites like here and then the 12 other random rm sites I've registered on XD
oh, and Yay for new Avi and Chibi Sprite sets!!!

I'm almost done making the opening movie, which is animated. Not to sound over confident but it's really awesome XD lol, I've poured alot of time into it, it's almost done, I just don't know how to end the movie, once I'm finished I'll post it on youtube for people to see before the final release.

This is completely evented, took me quite a while, hope you all like it. And yes, the intro is skippable by pressing the space bar at any time during the movie. The splash screens however, are now skipable.

EDIT: I love your intro, very well done. You didn't show any ingame scenes though. Would've been cool if you have. That song is so familiar, I don't remember where I heard it though.
P.S. How was this recorded? Did you tape it with ur phone or something?

Is it tomorrow that you're releasing your demo? If so, I'm genuinely excited, with each new demo release, your skills improve greatly upon the last.
That's actually very well done, nice work! :smile: I especially liked the "blur-flashes".
At 1:00 though, I'm not sure, but I think I'm seeing something. ._o
P.S. I noticed that the title screen comes after that, though. I'm guessing that it's unskippable? If so, I still recommend trying what I posted back then, or something along that idea. As good as it is, it would still get in the way after a few runs for some.

Reives, in the post with the link he said that you're able to skip both the intro and the splash screens. :x
nope, not the splash screens, only the intro >:D lol, sorry Reives, I just had to keep em :x dun know why, personal pet peeve I guess XD
about the demo though, I'm waiting till hanzo can make the logo first, since as you can see from the video I don't have a logo, just really fancy text that looks terrible XD If he can make it by tommorow, I'll release it tommorow, but I don't want to rush him.

but yeah, the chapter is pretty much done, I'd like to clean it up a bit, but I have to put it on pause and only work on spriting since I've been recently employed by another team as well as the fact my grades suck like hell, so I need to work at school first XD
but I'm going to try and shoot a video of the intro with lyrics and credits with no lag becuase I know that not everyone will be able to enjoy the intro to it's fullest unless you close seriously like every application you have running XD I have to close my editor to test play it at full frame/audio rate, other wise it's always like 2 frames, then 5, then 10, and end up like 30 frames off when the intro ends, lol.

sorry about that rikkuken, but I shot it on my digital camera, it's not the best, I'm going to use my mom's for the next recording so it'll look better.
And yup, I got the names from fire emblem XD I was only starting out on this project back then, fire emblem was a small influence, other than the names though, theres very little connection. Should I change it? The names don't appear in the demo, but they are a huge part of the game over all.
wait, scratch that, they do appear in some of the npc talk, lol. idk, I might change it if something hits my mind, but after working with everything for 2 years now I'm way to used to it, so probably not.
as for the song, it's Silly Go Round, it's the intro song to .hack//roots, personally I've never seen the series myself, I heard the song on the radio about a month ago and looked it up, very inspiring, and I only watched the .hack intro when someone showed it to me, and personally I think I actually put the song into better use XD

and since I'm here, let me take a quick screen shot of the lyrical intro, I haven't added credits yet but that should be pretty easy :P
Want to take a second to say though, adding lyrics, was the stupidest decision I have made XD
This was a SERIOUS pain in the ass to do, I mean like >_>;; lol, all the timing, the additional procession lag, man this took a while... I've still got the last 4 lines to time out and then I'm done though XD

last little off topic note, a friend asked me which girl was my favorite, and I completely froze, tell the truth I really had no idea, it was a tough question, but yeah, their all my adorable cast and I'm just in love with all my characters, except Avion becuase one that'd be gay and two emi took him away from me D:

yeah, those are blur flashes, they zoom, and then a over layer over zooms again.
As for the skipping thing, I didn't do your suggestion, that way people would only see it once XD
All I did was place the player on a action triggered event and if they pressed space they'd skip the intro.
