Holy !@#$! The new animation is really nice! I like the smooth transition and the actual poses themselves. Btw, I LOVE your GCN FE style sprites. Just damn epic looking lol.

Updated version of Elthunder. Old one was for the old 40 pixels taller screen, and the cropped parts were too important, so I just started over.

Work in progress animation of the Guren MkII from Code Geass. The current fad on the Fire Emblem: New Dawn forum is mecha, so I thought I'd try something new.

The critical versions of that Astra animation earlier in the thread. Spin pose and ending still aren't mine, skill effect pose and attacks still are.
Coded most of the activation skills today, so I had to spend the most time making sure Astra worked right, so I wanted to at least see what it looked like ingame, so I needed the Critical versions.

I'll have a video of it in the next few days I guess, since it's better to see it in action.

Shaman. This is a magic class. He would probably have a higher Str than Mag score if he had Str.
Also, yes, Shaman. Dark Shamans are Sorcerers now because that makes more sense.

Longbowman. Boring idle, pretty cool focus. Then I realized I basically stole the Warrior bow crit for the focus and dfghdsdsf

These animations look really nice Yeti. Good job. I've been out of the pixel world for a long time now, so what I'm seeing is a good standard from what I remember.

Your animations are always so fluid and well-done! Sorry if you've answered this already but are you a hobbyist or do you have any training in animation?

The only thing that I could critique with the newest guy is that it looks a little odd when he pulls his knife out, the frames move so fast and the angle of the knife starts out pointing down, it looks like he's pulling it out of thin air.

oh hey now that I'm looking at your other sprites I'm realizing that was probably the intention! :blush:

I think some of the bright screen light ups happen at inconsistent times sometime. The pirate one seems a bit strange how he suddenly changes to a different hand, so no comment for that, but the ones before that, the ranged attacks, flash like one or two frames too soon imo
 
The hit flash timing on ranged attacks is basically grandfather'd from the original games, where the flash is one frame after the projectile appears regardless of how long it's onscreen. I haven't really bothered to mess with it for authenticity/consistency, and because it looks fine ingame with the hitsparks and screen shaking.

Pirate slashes across with right hand, then chops down with left. Only the last hit in an attack gets a hit flash in the interest of not being overly busy/seizure inducing (see: Myrm, Swordmaster, and Halb)
