I second guess myself a lot less doing it in 3D first, and it's more consistent. But it's a bit more work to set up (even though I think it's a bit faster overall) and I have to avoid including too many frames (since 3D has full tweening), increasing the amount of work and making it unnaturally smooth. I kinda had trouble with that on the Drifter, Sorcerer I was more careful and made sure to cut out frames I didn't need first.
Overall I think I prefer doing 3D first.

A simple edit I forgot to upload earlier, made the Scout's arms a more correct length. Unarmed pose also included.

But are those thunder animations not just a little... 1Sprite-ish, I mean, that thunder wouldn't be in that position for the whole animation, would it?

Well both ones I ripped from FE (Thunder and Bolting) do that, so for consistency I have Elthunder and Arcthunder doing it too.

Removing the screen shakes this guy makes on crit makes it much easier to see what's going on.

Magic rips whee. Mend, in apng format cause it destroyed the color quality otherwise.
 
Very impressive. Uther's animation is flawless; it looks just as if it came right out of the GBA Fire Emblems.
However Isadora's critical seems to be missing some frames. After she spins around, she doesn't seem to even hit the sorcerer at all. I am no expert at pixel art and pixel animations, but I think adding some frames will make the animation seem more fluid. Do you know what I mean?
...
Remember, I don't have that much experience with custom pixel work, so take my comment as if it were a grain of salt.
 
I don't think anyone has much to say because there's really not anything to critique about them. They're smooth and really well-done, although yeah, Peri has a point.

This one looks a little weird to me, can't quite pinpoint why...

I think its because the jump looks a tad weak, maybe add a little more thrust?
 
The Phalanx palette is very odd, you're right. I edited Oswin's (FE7) colors to make it, and he has full saturation oranges, so it carried over. The ones actually used ingame are better.

Recruit crit I have little room to work with, since it's an edit and trying to match the original. I think it's fine anyway, the delay adds to the effect.


So here's something.

The Swordmaster Mastery skill, Astra/Meteor Slash/Shooting Star Sword/whatever you're familiar with. 5 hits at half damage.

About half of the frames are taken from the GBA Swordmaster's original attack/crit:

Critical version forthcoming; it'll be much easier since I just have to turn the attacks into slashies :3
 
It turns out Astra critical was harder than I expected since I would have to actually change some of the existing frames, so I just moved on to more pressing things for now.

Life Up!

Sol, Paladin skill, Lck% for HP regain equal to damage caused. Just the pose at the start and the effect are mine, rest is the original attack. Needed a simple skill so I could program activation skills, and so far they seem to work ~( ' 3')~
