This was pretty awesome until I saw the hoops you had to go through to allow someone else to play your game. Don't exactly have a server or website sitting around....
As a response to anyone who is worried about this:
If you follow the basic tutorial linked on the start page of the Construct 2 program highlighted below..
Once you get to the conclusion, you'll see a link to a page describing how to share your project on Dropbox..
Follow
this link and the very simple instructions that are listed on the page.
Dropbox is free storage for anyone, and the public folder it provides for sharing files works excellently with exported Construct 2 projects. All you need to do in order to share your game is
upload your project files and copy/paste the public link to your index.html file. (This process is even easier if you have the Dropbox desktop application installed.)
Once I finished making the tutorial project,
it took me all of 5 seconds to get my project shared through my
Dropbox.
Now that you know, please don't let the hosting requirement scare you away from completing a Construct 2 project! If you're a bit overwhelmed by the system (if you're not much of a programmer, you probably should be!) then you should
definitely check out the tutorial link I highlighted for you above. It's really not that difficult to get into!
Additionally, if you want some personal support from
your pal Tuna, come find me on
#hbgames (if you're lucky enough to catch me when I'm not at work) or send me a PM and I will be happy to help with any problems you're having getting started!
Let's see some more Construct 2 project threads, guys! I know you can do it!
