The speed skill gives Gale the skill SWIFT while the speed buff is still in effect. If you use swift once, the speed effect is taken off.

The game is awesome, and the mapping is great (though not perfect, I'm no master of mapping but I can see some weird things)

Holy crap! What happened there?? What happened after you took that screenshot? I have to say I've played through the demo countless times (to the point of hating it) but I've never encountered that. Maybe it's one of those random rmxp hiccups.

I'm already working on it. Considering the time it took for the first demo, getting most of the resources and putting the system together, It shouldn't take more than 2 months, but that may be wishful thinking.
 
The battles were a tad bit on the challenging side, and there's not enough elbow room between each one.
Each enemy took an eternity to kill. Other than that, exceptional job.
How did you get that bright-dark lighting effect in the valley screenie.
 
While I think you did a nice job with the screenshots you posted in the "Screenies" section (I especially like the cosmetic fog you used for the light streaming out of the windows), I think the ones in the "Map Screenies" spoiler could use a bit of work.  They look too sparce, especially the last one that utilizes the Mountain tileset.  I might recommend combining tilesets (or downloading something like the "Ultimate RTP Exterior" where a great majority of the sets are combined for you) so that you can diversify the mountains a little bit, instead of having to use the same tiles over and over again.  

Some of the best forest/mountain maps I've seen make use of the following things:
-Added depth through the use of several layers of mountains that are staggered so as to look more natural.
-A nice variety of vegetation (combining tilesets allows you to use a greater variety of trees, shrubs, and flowers)
-Good use of water (natural looking waterfalls behind trees, round or diagonal autotiles... you can find a really nice selection here)

All of these things can help make your larger maps less sparce and more realistic.  Hope this helps :)

   
 
Thanks so much for the critique. I've seen your suggestions before in other threads and take them to heart. I suppose it's hard to tell from the screenshot considering its 1/4th size, but It's quite diverse vegetation-wise. I am already using rounded water, and combined tilesets. I limited myself to specific vegetation to keep from being inconsistent. I suppose it's just better to say it looks better ingame.
 
hey, I just downloaded your game, and I found a bug. In the  nasbeth (after I gone to Seiji forest) I came in to the pub and can't go out because Stroph keep saying that they must seek information before leaving. I think you need to repair it, because I've got a bad experience about that before. Thank you.

Oh I see the problem. There are three tiles you can walk on to exit the building, but it only updated one of them. Try each tile to see which one exits. I'll have this fixed for the final product. Thank you for finding this.
 
It's an Evented Title screen, a script and series of events that Jaberwocky shared a few years back on creationasylum. He basically completely bypassed the actual title screen.
 
Whoa this is game is great... I cant even finish a story/script for mine... Where did you get the Blitz/input script? Id like to add it to my game...
 
I'm surprised you got that far, I think most people that downloaded my demo quit before making it to the forest. I'll be done with Chapter 1 by the end of this month, hopefully much sooner.

The blitz/input script, I believe I found it at creationasylum.net. I'll see if I can find it.

scroll to the bottom of the first post and download the demo, since I believe what's written in the post is a little erroneous.
Also, the script I have in my game is a bit modified, placement, speed etc.
 
Wow Thank you ever so much! Yeah I enjoy playing games to just play...im out of school now so i have LOADS of time...But alas i am no writer... so i doubt ill be able to finish my game, I have an idea but since im no good at writing i cannot complete it,
 
Your sentences don't look broken nor are they inadequate, I think you're just thinking too much. Just do your best, I personally *hate* all of the dialogue I write, but I have to move on otherwise I won't get anything done. Once a scene is finished, I can come back to it later to reflect upon everything I've written without having seen it recently, it usually helps by making you think "what the hell was I thinking?" etc.
