Aedemphia: DEMO FINALLY AVAILABLE!

I've just sent the last part of the translation to the author.

Now it's up to him to fix things up.

The thing is the graphics are good but the game mechanics are even better.

Whenever you get gain a level you distribute points among your stats. There's limit breaks, dozens of skills, you can steal from shops, do holp-ups, there's numerous way to solve side-quests, dialogue options, animated monsters and characters in combat.

Everything is custom made, even the music.

Well um, on second thought, my inability to speak French is more of an obstacle than I was hoping, sooo I guess we're waiting for the translation. I'm definitely looking forward to it, though.
 
'Holy shit' x10 was about the only reaction I could think up when seeing that screenshot. The fact that this is RM2K3 is even more amazing. I can NOT wait for the demo. aglklsdlffThat screenshot is INSANE.

That guy's got talent. He also must have a lot of free time. O.o
 
Oh my...

I just gotten through the first cinematics and I have not seen anything like it before. It was simply breathtaking.

I have never seen so much work go into something like this. The sound of your steps even differentiates whether your stepping on material such as snow, tile, rug, etc.

Please translate this. If you do, you do not know how popular this game will become. Everything in this game is stunning, and to tell you the truth, good enough to be published for a console such as the GBA.

I feel like I am destroying the game's awe by trying to describe it. There are no words of which I can say.

Could you please do us all a huge favor...

I was just coming to post a little update.

Just to sum things up:

The game is now officially translated (the first demo that is, which isn't the whole game).

The whole game is about 24 hours more or less, the demo should be about one hour more or less.

Anyhow, I was just coming to say that the demo is translated (in game).

We're beginning beta-testing tomorrow or the day after. After that, it's a matter of days before it's released.

So sit tight, shouldn't be too long now. :)

Holy shit! This has to come out soooooon.  The graphics put it in league with Zelda or Chrono Trigger!  If the gameplay is good, you could even try to get a system release O_O (Hey, Alien Hominid did it...)
 
Just....beautiful...wow. Not much more to say 'till the demo comes out, but this game makes you want to scrap a project and start alllllllll over again.

I've talked with the author today.

Release date is on the 31st of July.

He's adding some stuff right now, for the English demo.

Bad news and good news:

Bad news: demo will be delayed for few more days due to a misunderstanding.

Good news:
I'm partly responsible for the delay. I felt that the demo was too short so I decided to translate a bit further so you guys can enjoy a longer demo.

The author is also remapping some screens for the English release.

im just going by the screenshots, so the ones in the second screenshot and the ones in the screenshot in your post above. maybe they look better in-game, or something, I don't know, but from what i can see, most of them look like they have little to no shading, and some also look pretty blobby. they look REALLY weird with the super-high detail tilesets

Thank you for giving me more detailed crits (as opposed to ball ugly, which doesn't leave me much to stand on).

I'll talk to the author about shading, it's a valid point.
 
I agree with Lum. The maps are ridiculously fantastic in their detail, but then the face art and the sprites amateur-up the whole experience WAY too much.

It's hard for me to believe that the same person making the maps is the same person making the muddy, detail-less sprites and the quickly/badly photoshopped faces. If those were cleaned up and this was somehow done with a legal maker, I'd easily say they could go commercial here, and would probably easily beat the living you-know-what out of Aveyond.
