imo, satriani is the best, but the best solo in a "normal" song would go to dragonforce. :thumb:

i know there are tons of great guitarists, i just named a few. batio is really really good to tough. the double guitair is incredible, every time again.

Nick Drake for all round bestness at everything.

Jimi Hendrix for tone and songwriting.

Django Reinhardt for technical incredibility. I mean, he totally pioneered that style of hyper-fast hyper-complicated gypsy jazz guitar, and is still regarded as one of the best guitarists ever to have lived.
And he only had two fucking fingers on his left hand! Jesus on a bicycle!
Plus he couldn't tune a guitar, and neither can I, so we're kindred spirits ^_^

Maybe Jeff Buckley, I wasn't so much interested in all the fiddly virtuoso stuff he did though. Johnny Marr, cos the Smiths rocked.

Oops nearly forgot Kelly Joe Phelps, jazz guitarist turned folk extrodinaire. I seriously think there is no guitarist alive better than him. I saw him live, and he was keeping two different rythems with his thumb and little finger, as well as keeping straight time with his foot, as well as playing insane and beautiful accoustic guitar with all the rest of him. Blew me away.


PS I really can't stand any of those metal fret-wankers people always say are so incredible. So if any come up, just assume that I'm scorning you XD
