Worst Way to die?

Hi all. I was just laying on my bed one day watching a movie and the guy died in it, but before he died he had to choose his death. (The movie was 'The meaning of life') So  i thought, what would be the worst way to die.
So i started to this topic for you guys to tell me the worst way to die.
Me personally think that dying in your sleep is the worst. I would hate to go to sleep and then all of a sudden your dead, and you don't even know you died. I would rather die by being bashed to death, cause then i know i'm going to die and accept it or not.

P.S: Don't say stupid things like 'cut into small pieces' and 'eating by a troll from Lord of the rings'.

I believe the worst way of dying would what happened to a very unfortunate elephant keeper.
To make a short story even shorter he died being crushed and a drowned beneath a mass of elephant excrements.

Nobody is taking this question seriously. Dieing in your sleep would OBVIOUSLY be the best way to check out. Peaceful, painless and no fear. Nobody really wants to die in agonizing pain by being "bashed to death".

I think being killed by an predatory animal would have to be the worst, especially something like bears, wolves or hyenas. They would not waste time with all that strangulation jazz like lions would. They would just rip open your guts and start eating.

well, i read somewhere that in medieval times they would saw people in half by hanging them upside down from a beam by their feet. They would start cutting with a saw at the crotch and work downard toward the head. The extra blood rushing to their head would allow them to stay alive until the saw had cut halfway through their torso. That would have to be the worst way to die. Ever.

God. I was reading this and felt nnauseous. I think I've heard that Uzbekistan still do something similar in extreme cases.

I think getting stabbed and bleeding out would be the worst. You kind of feel the knife coming in and you're watching it coming back out followed by blood. It's not like getting shot. That or some of the fucked up shit in the Saw films. Anything slow and painful would just suck.

There have been some pretty nasty executions through the ages.
In Sahara or some other desert they would cut the eyelids off and leave the people naked in the middle of the desert.
I believe there a viking execution although I am not sure were your stomach would be cut open and a rat placed inside before sewing the stomach back together. The rat will panic and claw around in you stomach and guts.

I'd hate to die being tortured. Anything long, slow and painful. My next worse two would be either drowning or burning alive, can't decide which. Choking's pretty bad too. You just can't describe that horrible feeling you have when you try and breathe, but can't. *shudder*

Actually, when you think about it, it wouldn't really matter if you died shamefully or with honour, because let's face it, you're dead and I'm pretty sure you couldn't care less about those things. Although I guess it would matter to the people that loved you.

I perfsonally think that some of the worst ways I have heard are as follows:

1. In the wild west, some criminals were buried up to the neck in the dirt, so they could not escape. Shortly thereafter, vultures found them.

2. Similar to the above, only with fire ants.

3. Dying from a gut wound. It takes forever, is excruciatingly painful, and, unless you get some kind of medical help, really is difficult to beat in short notice if something painful is called for.

Really, the worst ways to die are the ones that take a long time, are filled with a lot of pain, and give you the time to realize that there's nothing you can do to stop it. Somthing like the way the French used to behead people (Oh yeah! It was called a Guillotine) are actually much more humane. Did you know that that machine caused less pain, every time, than a botched "lethal injection"? The machine cut off the head fast enough that the executioner had enough time to show the person their body, and they still had enough blood left to blink, and thus, probably realize they were dead.

I think burning to death would be one of the worst deaths. Depending on how big the flames are, because if you were being roasted, you could be in pain for a long time before finally dying from it.

There's also no honor in dying in your sleep; I'd much rather die (because in the end, who cares, your dead) in a way people aer going to remember me / be thankful that I was alive than 'pass away in the night' where people cry and move on.

Life is largely about making an impression on the world; might as well go out with a bang.

Also, to answer the question: burning to death would be pretty damned painful.
