Worst Playable Characters

Ven do it... we all know Cloud and Squall were the worst Final Fantasy characters ever anyways, lol. And why would they release Final Fantasy VIII on PSN, when they could release Final Fantasy IX, and be swimming in money, they'de be able to build a bridge around the world with the money they make ! (Obvs not... they'd do it twice instead...)

tgman is correct !

Final Fantasy IV, IX and X, as I've said many MANY times are my fave ones, and to be honest I think every character can be likable, or be a complete dick, but for the right reasons, for example, Seymour in FFX is a dick cause he killed his parents (Not to mention the betrayal..), but that's an awesome reason for him to be a dick, isn't it ? (Spoiler; Anima = Seymours mother, although you only find out if you fight Seymour while you have Anima, as he says "You too, mother ?" or something of the like, can't remember, lol, it was a pain getting Anima in the first place anyway...)

The entire cast of RE5 has issues pal... I mean seriously, what sort of person can't run and gun, or run and reload ? Chris Redfield = phailz0r.

Cloud sucked because he doesn't comprehend that he has a big-boobed chick (Tifa) practically asking him to take her. But it's Tifa's fault for not going out and just saying "I love you, you blonde-heading emo!" Cloud was already too naive and caught up in his own delusions to not see it beforehand. That wheel chair scenario should have proved that.

Squall is a lot more presentable. He didn't develop much. He just became a bit more open, talking more explicitly instead of through inner thoughts. He was better than Cloud in personality because he was more mature. Then again, FF 8 was a game that brought more mature issues.

IN ANY CASE...

For fear of stoking aforementioned war, I'll only say that I agree with cordynasty - while the two characters certainly had many similarities, Squall's character and persona were presented much more maturely, and his development was realistic in that it was gradual and subtle the entire game; something that would carry on in every FF afterward.

Also, jъГìsт, it would actually make more sense to release 8, as 9 was the least successful numbered FF on the PlayStation, both critically and commercially (though I still really enjoyed it).

NOW, back on topic: can't agree enough about the RE:5 characters. Run. Stop. Shoot. Stop. Run. Stop. Shoot. Stop.

ugh....

Nah it wouldn't make more sense, atleast not in my world anyways, and I'm sure that more people who owned a PS3 would prefer Final Fantasy IX on the store as opposed to VIII, lol.

But honestly, if they put Final Fantasy IX on the Playstation Store, I would be one of the first to buy it, although I own the original on PS1 disc anyways... but then I could put it on my PSP Go (When I get it... hurry up October !), and play it at college or somewhere, lol.

Yep. But if you have played solo as Chris you would know... sheva... is... annoying.... But hey the game is fun.

wtf, sheva is awesome >

of course when i played it i played 2 player and i played sheva so >_>

also: final fantasy ix and vi are imo the only ones worth even bothering with so

*Random Note: FFIX and VI were two Final Fantasies that Tetsuya Nomura had no hand in making, which is why the character designs weren't total shit and the storyline lacked homosexual overtones he is known for including in games he works on.

well IX had quite a few he/she'isms in it in kuja alone. the rest of the cast was blissfully normal and relatively free of "beautiful men(?) syndrome" however.

enemies who're men who're prettier than women are not really threatening or even capable of serious consideration unfortunately for most FF's

Kimahri Ronso from Final Fantasy X - in spite of I like this game he nearly said nothin' and when you complete his part of Sphere Grid you really don't know where to continue.

Lol yeah, as a character though, he's pretty awesome, although pretty fucking stubborn, but meh, I guess he has a reason, lol... But damn you're so right with his sphere grid, he didn't have his own path to go, he had to follow someone else... pretty stupid really...

Kimahri's strength is that he is flexible: you can have him go Tidus's route or Rikku's route. I think he can also go Wakka's route early on. And Yuna's if I'm correct. I had him go Tidus's route so he could get haste. He's more useful than people think, especially with him having that "red mage" appeal to him. Just people like their more straight forward characters.

Well yeah, I've always had him following Tidus' path, but then when he's close to Auron, I make him take that route, to nab all the strength and HP nodes that appear, lol.

Not really a character but has anyone noticed how useless the select button is?
I mainly use it when preforming a soft reset by holding down all the bottons. The only games I can think of that actually made a use for it was in FF8 to preform a boost while summoning. And the gameboy Zelda titles which opened the map.
Other then that it doesn't really have a function. It was probably more useful back when controllers didn't have shoulder buttons.
