Worst game(s) ever played.

The title of this thread is self-explanatory. Just share some of the worst video games that you've played. This can range to being the most boring or the most buggy/crappy as well.

So I'll share. What's the worst games I've ever played? Here's a list:

> Sonic Labyrinth It's like Sonic 3D Blast, only a thousand times slower. A boring title that appeared on the glitchy monstrosity that was the Sega Gamegear. A memory TO FORGET.

> Star Ocean Story-wise and gameplay-wise is was pretty good, but the countless bugs kept ruining the fun.

> Megaman 7 I consider this the worst of the classic Megaman series. It is way too easy and the audio sounds HORRIBLE. Speaking of audio, the musical scores were about as good to listen to as a little kid's music box.

-- 95% of the 'New Projects' threads on this board!!! XD

-- Actraiser II: I believe this game was on the SNES... The main reason i hated this game so much was that the developers replaced all the fun elements in Actraiser I with side-scrolling filth.

-- Either called 'Tails' or 'Rings' i can't remember: This was a dumped project by Sega. It centered around Sonic's sidekick, Tails. A Beta-Demo was released to the public and it was sooo buggy and glitchy and horrible etc. etc. People hated it with great passion and the project was dumped about 24 hours after the Beta-Release lol XD

Which star ocean? The first one wasn't released in English, and if it was one of the other two, what bugs? I don't remember any annoying bugs from either (and trust me I've played both of them half to death [and I only say half because I didn't beat Freya on 4D mode in SO3 because most my stuff got stolen])

Anyways... Worst game? Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter. I mean, sure I didn't give it much of a chance, but I can honestly say it did the same for me. I lost within like 4 hours and I don't even know what I did wrong. This isn't like the 'lost a boss fight and need to reload' kind of lose either, this is 'you fucked up and have to restart the game' kind of lost. I can't say I remember much beyond 'terrible' about the game though. Arc likes it, so if I see it in a bargain bin for $4 I might give it another try, but for now, no. No no no.

The second one's bonus dungeon was majorly messed up with bugs. On a few levels you had like a 25% chance of crashing every time a battle started etc.

Can't think of any SO bugs either other than though.

Haha, I agree with you ccoa, Quest 64! But also, Dark Cloud 2. At first, I really liked the game, but then it got really bad, really quick.

Andy, you are SUPPOSED to lose that game, or start over, repeatedly.

Then again, you may have just overloaded your dragon meter.

ANYWAY - I'm not even gonna talk to the people who are dissing Star Ocean, since I'm assuming they mean Star Ocean: Second Story, since critisizing the original Star Ocean for having bugs when it would have to be a incomplete ROM hack is just plain juvenile, and Star Ocean 2 is one of the best RPGs on the Playstation.

As for my entry, I loathed Unlimited SaGa. I've been a huge fan of the SaGa series for years and years, and I was stoked for Unlimited SaGa. Someone should have explained to me that it was a glorified board game.

That is the only post-SNES game that I ever pawned.

Another game that "ate the dick" as it were, was Mega Man X: Command Mission. The game may well have been good in one way or another, but the whole thing was just so sloppy, that my dissapointment just turned me off of the whole experiance. It's sad, too, because the battle system was actually pretty good. If only it amounted to more than a 100% linear corridor crawl.

Mega Man X5 was also a stinker, especially compared with X4, which was incredible. It's like they suddenly decided to simply drop all design sensibilities and production value from the series. While X6 was a bit better, X7 demonstrated that, somehow, the creators of some of the best designed games out there were just plain running out of ideas.

X8 was what X7 should have been, so I'm hoping if there's an X9 they remember that Mega Man X is a sidescroller with tight controls - which can, in fact, be done in 3D. No more Ghost in the Machine crap, either. Sigma is the only one I can deal with.

Arc the Lad 2 was awful, and I say this admitting I enjoyed Arc the Lad 1 quite a bit. ATL1 was something like 20 hours, which suited it just fine. The battle system wasn't really deep enough to support any more. ATL 2 took pretty much the exact same battle system (well, the turned the critical hit rate way, way up), and drug it on for an additional 40-50 hours. Once I hit the 20 hour mark, and found out I was only about half way through, I simply quite. I read a plot synopsis and moved on the ATL3, which was good.

Stupid...

Then there's Suikoden Tactics. Basically take a SRPG, remove all the depth from it, then take Suikoden, and remove everything good about it, and combine the two into a perfectly Meh game. Yeah.

E.T. for Atari - possibly the worst fully-functional game I have ever played.

Though, there are a few Commodore 64 games that come close.

As for modern games - I don't think I have every played one that I would consider "abysmal". I find something to like in most every game that I have ever played.

The Cave of Trials? I don't think I... Ever crashed in there? I dunno, it could be that I got there when I was playing it on the PS2 and that somehow helped, but I never, ever crashed in there to my memory. Though having to equip weird weapons that suck against most things to kill random little guys was kind of silly.

Also yes I had forgotten about Quest 64 and Unlimited SaGa. I mean, I liked Quest 64, as it was like... Why did I like that game? I remember playing it a lot, but it being one of the worst pieces of crap ever. Unlimited SaGa was... Not what the other SaGa games were. It was like a boardgame with a generic battle system attached.

Oh and I don't think Megaman X5 was all THAT bad. Certainly, CERTAINLY worse than X4 though, since that was the pinnacle of that series. God that game is great. (I feel like going on another rant about how my stuff got stolen. Because now I want to play it. THANKS ARC YOU ASS)

I've played so many games that I can't even think of what the absolute worst is, so i'll just mention some games that I am especially fond of hating on:

Vandal Hearts 2 - the worst SRPG ever made. Whoever thought that it would be a smart idea for the computer to move a unit at the same time you move yours was a moron.

Shadow Madness - Absolutely worthless RPG. You didn't have to fight a single battle in this game, that's how bad it was (not to mention the horrendous story).

I did not like X4 simply because after playing X3, I expected a lot more. It was a dumb-down for me. Though I do agree with you about X5, THAT made X4 a lot more worth playing.

kingdom hearts- bah game makes my eyes bleed

Saying things like that around here is just asking for a mob to destroy you.

As for me, I disliked the Jade Cocoon games. It was like they tried to mesh Pokemon with Legend of Mana; it didn't really work. At all.
