With a new era comes a new mascot

so, it this thing supposed to be a mascot, like the old dragon kid, or more of like... a memorable Logo? Like, will the winning thing replace the Blue dragon RMXP (PIRATED VERSION ICON BY THE WAY LOL) or will it be like... up there too?

I guess what i am saying is would you all be opposed to something like a new logo, rather than like a character or cartoon or i guess "Mascot"

I think we're working on a logo now separately from this contest. I don't remember what sort of role the old mascot, but I think it'd be a safe guess to say that the new mascot would more or less fill the same niche.

I'm already making a new logo, so no, logos will not be accepted.

The "theme" of the new skin, and the logo, is machinery (i.e. development/creation/construction).

So you can run with that, if you'd like.

The main colors are as yet undecided.

The mascot would likely appear in announcements, "this week" dealies, and various other places. It probably wouldn't be in the site header. We'd want it to be clear that it's a mascot, but not a logo, or branding.

The 30th of Feb was a typo. It's the 28th, lol.

I would like to dissuade people from pixelling the mascots, unless you do something in an 8-bit fashion which can be easily converted to vectors. The mascots will need to be resized as needed and that would produce only very limited results with a pixellated character.

mikee it's an old inside joke, you had to have been around a bit longer for that one. sparky was wumpi's entry to a similar contest a long while back, before the administration change. she won, but for whatever reason rye or someone recolored it, changed the mascot's name to "dragon kid," and decided that it would be a boy.

You fucking people have absolutely no right to talk about her.

@Tindy: It's fine. I just thought it was funny that they were making jokes about the dragon kid and how someone copied the design and stole the idea, and then not ten minutes later, there's another raccoon entry. It was one of those "Are you fucking kidding me?" moments. Heh. It's cool now though.

Now that I know we ACTUALLY have a deadline, I'll be done by the 28th with my next idea. Though my first ideas are always the best, so don't expect a lot. lol

I drew this because Luminer said he liked cute robots and octopi. He was lying, of course, but it's pretty cute!!! I propose it as a mascot.

It is a roboctopus. Its name is Mr. Robocto. Also, its eyes and mouth are screens, so it can change its expression to suit its mood. :3
