With a new era comes a new mascot

mikee it's an old inside joke, you had to have been around a bit longer for that one. sparky was wumpi's entry to a similar contest a long while back, before the administration change. she won, but for whatever reason rye or someone recolored it, changed the mascot's name to "dragon kid," and decided that it would be a boy.

Honestly, I assumed it had something to do with that. I mean... the "No dragons or kids that look like dragons." rule made me suspicious. And then the post of a kid in a dragon suit kind of made it obvious that SOMETHING like that had happened. My guess was actually that she had suggested the entry and the rest of the admins said no or something, so she decided to post it anyway to get the public's opinion or something. Heh.

Obviously, any of the admins or mods may change him as they see fit. I'm not a great artist yet, but I'm trying. And I know the whole patch of fur on his stomach is a little odd shaped. I'd be happy to email you the psd version (Yes, I used photoshop. I know it's frowned upon. I've heard it.) if you DO happen to choose my design. : )

Oh, and as for prizes, like every berries said, I think just knowing that my picture won is plenty of a prize. But I wouldn't argue with a sponsorship if you guys insist on giving something away! lol. : )

I honestly wasn't going for cute. I like raccoons. It actually started as a teddy bear. Just sketching, and then when I drew HUGE eyes, I went..... hey.... that totally looks like a raccoon! So I sketched him out just for fun, and when I got to his hand, I though.... a sword and shield... obviously.

He had big plate mail boots too, but I got rid of them. lol. They were pretty badass though.




When you say memorable.... what do you mean? I still have one entry left, and I'll give it another shot since the raccoon doesn't cut it. I'm just trying to help out. I spend more time on this website than I do with my fiance'. I feel like I should give something back..... ; )
