Just because you know it doesn't mean everyone knows it. That belief is a psychological condition usually relegated to very young children, who all share that belief for a period of time from birth to sometime shortly after school starts.
but in this case it's taught quite pervasively in high school biology courses and anyone who's passed grade ten should have an inkling
in any case still doesn't explain why you thought that was pertinent to the discussion, though, or how it added anything to what como said
p.s. take courses in condescension you're very bad at it
I actually don't try to be condescending, most of the time...
Anyway, not everyone takes high school biology, and, in many areas, the teachers do a really, really subpar job. And I thought it was pertinent to the discussion as an example of a vaccine that does not actually contain any of the disease it vaccinates against. As for the grade ten thing...
There's a reason America has a show called "Are you Smarter than a 5th Grader". It's because many people have a tendency to forget most of what they learned in school, once they've entered a profession and stopped using the knowledge. Now, this isn't nearly universal, and many people have absurdly good memories, but it doesn't mean that everyone will remember a fact from a tenth grade bio class.
Anyway, despite my arguments, you do bring up good points. I just have a tendency to spout off random facts, and then justify why I did so... (OMG! I'm like Hybrida! I need a loaded gun, pronto!)
