ok it was cute at first but lets end the whole "ur an idiot my point is vaild LOLOLOLLXD". mouse_std I personally think you need to make your posts more intelligent in GD (posting like you are texting is retarded). lets try to stay on topic without attacking each other anymore

by intelligent u meant mocking my suggestion? if thats intelligent than im gonna stay away from it.
if they got better suggestion then i am so oh happy for it instead of flaming my suggestion.
and ur no different really -_- whats ur intake on it? solution? i thought we were discussing real mature problem, u made ur self as a 3rd party to make ur self look wiser? thats intelligent ???
ppl complain here and there and they expect government/other ppl to handle it, and when crisis/trouble happen they blame government/other ppl.
who did the criminal hurt? ppl , who do u think pay for sending them to prison? ppl , by increase of prison who suffer?ppl (it increase tax, criminal just stay there like hotel), with the money that was used for prison it can be used for bettering ppl life around, IF u do look around u, theres a lot of ppl suffering but oh ur so much prefer to make lots of prison for entertaning criminal huh.
geee... i guess ur much more intelligent than i am, im so dumb im sory.

by intelligent he means stop typing "u" for "you", "ppl" for "people", etc (he said posting like you are texting is retarded). if you type like a 12 year old girl then nobody is going to take you seriously map. on top of that, try forming your arguments and backing them up with the logic behind them. explain to us the point you're trying to make.

nobody is invalidating your opinion, mouse. in fact it's good to have someone with opposing views. the problem is the way you're presenting them, man. take a chill pill and try to compose a post with some weight to it. this would be a really good topic to discuss in detail and i don't want to see it locked because of you guys.

boom ! XD
do i have to spell everything for u? i guess im having argument with a 5 year old huh :blank: sorry about that, i really dont realize it.
ill stop, no use continuing, drugs forever...whoohoo...tax increase forever....yay

Okay now that the faggotry has been pointed out the adults can talk. Death Penalty is a non solution.

1. We have a real justice system, not kangaroo courts. Drug Trafficking requiring mandatory death sentencing would bog down the court system in years upon years of appeals. The criminal is afterall fighting for his life. By the end of it you would have incarcerated the criminal over the duration for the same amount of time you would've likely imprisoned him had we not a mandatory death sentence punishment for the crime. All you end up doing is adding a bottleneck of appeals into the CJ system further adding to the upkeep costs of the system.

2. Criminal activity concerning drugs is encouraged by our own consumption of them and the easy money to be made off being involved in that activity. Death penalty does not address this nor does it really deter someone who lives on the margins in a city whose per capita murder rate is higher than the height of hostile fire casualties at the pinnacle of violence in the Iraq war.

3. Harsh mandatory sentencing encourages criminals to resist arrest. If I'm gonna get the needle anyway, why not just die in a shootout with cops? It only increases the likelihood of violence against first responders and flight risk.

hmmm...i see ur point and reason @so fist , so does that mean theres no other solution? ...well besides waiting for it to stop at its own...or pray...

Exactly, death penalty wont solve anything and I'm sorry for offending you about this, I was just making a point you didn't have to flame or troll like that dude ( seriously you where getting really pissed off ), anyway your earlier post where broken and text like so I probably skipped reading the whole "SELL" post but the point is still the same. As long as their is demand for drugs even if you involve a death penalty their will always be suppliers and as So fist said the death penalty would result in sellers resisting arrest not stopping drug trafficking and drugs are addictive so users wont care thus resulting in more violence and underground-markets as a result to your death penalty.

I'm not a seller or anything and you don't have to get worked up about my examples but the truth is people sell drugs why?

because they don't have any other alternative to earn a decent pay, maybe if their was better employment and opportunities for less fortunate people like this, and free high quality drug rehabilitation centers they wont need to sell or use drugs. I'm not sure where your from but in my country Uganda because of lack of free good rehabilitation centers most drug users don't have anyone to help them stop and also because of the poor free education system we have a lot of unemployed people and to make things worse the majority of the population are children. If you where to put yourself in the shoes of such a situation would you still consider the death penalty even though most of the people you are sentencing to death are not really bad people they are just desperate and would better benefit the economy if they had opportunities to make a decent living and give back in a positive way to the community.

Just try reason through without getting angry about it...

To throw an additional point in the initial discussion (where at some point was stated not to bring up death penalty... but w/e): I'm pretty sure the prison concept was never meant to 'cure' (yes, wrong word, but you know what I mean) prisoners, make them more socially compliant or better people. I assume it was more of a deterrent than a fix, and to make it work as that, you have to actually imprison people. It's like nuclear warheads: They work rather good for preventing wars, but once actually used, it will definately draw it's negative sides pretty damn quickly.

Just repeating some stuff I've been hearing on Kansas News.
There's plans to add Fees for jail time to help keep the places running. Something like $2 for very hour you're there.

One county suggested decriminalizing domestic abuse because it was getting expensive to prosecute every case. I don't think it'll happen because everyone was like "WTF are you thinking!". Of coarse as soon as there is talk of decriminalizing something people want to legalize pot.

Oh and they finally made selling fake "bath salts" illegal. About last winter there were all these college students getting sent to hospitals getting sick and having hallucinations. One guy jumped out of his friends truck and ran into moving traffic on the highway and died. It was all linked to drugs marketed as bath salts or potpurri laced with some chemical. It was legal because the label said "not for human consumption"; but everyone knew it's real purpose. It was sold in gas stations and anyone could buy it. I swear one coffee shop owner in my town was going to get linched by a small town mob for making and selling potpourri. I think they took care of the potpourri problem quickly but the bath salts took time going though the drug and food administration.
I think this would give you a pretty good idea of what would happen if drugs where ever legal. Suddenly all these curious people would want to try it thinking they are in the clear with no clue if the stuff they are trying is regulated or safe.

if you think that marijuana makes people "jump out of his friends truck and ran into moving traffic on the highway and die" then you're a fucking idiot.

also what his this POTPOURRI thing. to my knowledge it's something that old people use to make their apartments smell like flowers not some raging hard drug.

EDIT
oh apparently you are talking about K2 which is actually a mild legal version of marijuana (and guess what. it doesn't do what you think. someone';s been watching reefer madness)

weed should be at least decriminalized. in texas if you are baked or admit to smoking it you dont get shit. if you get caught with a pipe its just a ticket. it def should not be a felony, unless you are selling it to children or something, there should be an age limit, like cigarettes.

yeah, weed should be just as legal as alchohol and cigarettes both of which are actually a lot more harmful than weed. Not that they should go ahead and legalize heroin and crack just the natural stuff.

cigs are just as bad as smoking weed. cancer is still a long term effect, as well as other mental disorders from inhaling the smoke.

I dunno man. It should be legal, yeah, in the comfort of your own home or a smoking area, sure. But it's not fair on bar workers or your average pedestrian to have to breathe that shit in too. I'm all for legalising drugs, but things like smoking (whether it's weed, tobacco, or whatever) there is a big effect on other people than the smoker.

smoking's generally bad to both the people and smoker but you could always use a vaporizer, doesn't smell as much and its not harmful to your lungs. Its just that smoking is probably the cheapest way, I get your point though, weed smells really really terrible unless you smoke it yourself lol.
