I've never really been a fan of Converge though, maybe I've just listened to the wrong songs or something lol, but I HAVE listened to the entirety of three of their albums: Petitioning The Empty Sky, Jane Doe, You Fail Me. And to be honest, none of the songs on any of those albums really clicked with me... although I hear they're bringing out a new album this year, or it's already out, I dont know, I heard this like last year since one of my friends is really into them... maybe that will be better? *shrugs*

That album ranges from the their standard mathcore to more tech metal to even post-metal. Seems like the best way to start because if you don't like the first 3 or so songs you can still like the others (and eventually the band will click with you).
I did absolutely despised Jane Doe when I first heard it (same with Calculating Infinity by DEP) but now they are some of my favorite albums. I doubt their new album will click with you as they seems to be going back to the crossover trash hardcore sound they had on Petitioning the empty sky.
