What are you listening to?

The more I'm listening to progressive metal or death/doom metal I'm starting to hate on breakdowns (because they are used so badly by 99% of the time)..

Bands just use them like hell and call themselves 'brutal'.. I call it shitty songwriting. A lot of bands I used to listen too (mainly Asking Alexandria and the like) are getting really boring for me because of this change in my taste. :/

I'd choose some insane time signatures or arpeggios above them every day. :thumb:

Only melodic or death metal in general? I've found a couple of really original bands if you're into Jazz-fusion or atmospheric death metal. :biggrin:

I never really thought much about RATM until I started learning bass but JESUS this song has an awesome bassline. All of their songs do, actually but this one tops them all IMHO.

My god ive seen them live and they are hoirrble :x ive heard a few things off there cds and its alright but they are clearly a band not ment to be heard live. btw listening to some old scool social disotrtion. 5DP image is laughable, when they entered the metal scene they spoke of their sound being the "real" sound of metal, LMAO. Crappy, unoriginal metal is what they meant I guess. As for a couple of songs I also can't stand 'em (white knunckles, salvation and couple of others are decent).
