- the Human Abstract broke up, GOD FUCKING DAMN IT!
- Oceano broke up, good!, shit band.
- neurosis announced new album, awesome
- ISIS announced new album (well "new" it's unreleased songs), still awesome
- Cynic announced new album, HELL YES.
- Ryan martin Blake started solo project, great! Guy's voice is golden.

While I admit liking Killswitch Engage, they already were generic. They're pretty much responsible from turning the metalcore forged by bands like Converge and Botch into the screamed verses/sung chorus song structure. Their first album with howard was good, all the rest was generic as everyone started imitating them from that point.

Meh, my favourite album by 'em is As Daylight Dies, which is the second with Howard, and I wouldn't say they were generic, they just turned everyone else generic since they set the new standard with mixing cleans and screams together.

I just hope they find a new lead singer that can live up to the greatness of Howard, and I hope they still release the album they were working on with him, I mean, I'm sure they will but there's always that small chance they decide not to, it was meant to be out sometime this year too, lol... I've still got hopes for it being released.

The more I'm listening to progressive metal or death/doom metal I'm starting to hate on breakdowns (because they are used so badly by 99% of the time)..

Bands just use them like hell and call themselves 'brutal'.. I call it shitty songwriting. A lot of bands I used to listen too (mainly Asking Alexandria and the like) are getting really boring for me because of this change in my taste. :/

I'd choose some insane time signatures or arpeggios above them every day. :thumb:
