Megaman Legends 2.
Megaman legends, hell yeah, I knew I forgot something. The first damn rpg(technically, again) that I played, loved the shit out of that game. 1st copy broke, and then I bought another. MML2 was also okay.
Megaman zero was a damn good series, though, so much better than the orginal or X(I've played mm8, mmx1, 2, 4, 5 and 6, so I know what I'm talking about). The gameplay and story actually meant something in MMZ.

There are lots of games with stories that are definitely not RPGs. Survival horror games such as Silent Hill or Fatal Frame have stories, but are not RPGs. Even first person shooters have stories. O.oa A story does not make a game an RPG instantly. RPGs do focus on stories more so than other genres/games, but that's it. ^_^ Candle is right on what he says. :3

I know I used Wikipedia but it was reliable and correct enough to get the point across. Plus anyways, its ridiculous to try to define that Mario Galaxy really has a story. I have never heard of a P-RPG before either.
I personally like:
Pokemon, if you consider that an RPG
Paper Mario, again, some may consider this not to be one
Final Fantasy XII, I really loved all the extra stuff

when did this topic become a definitional debate on what is a rpg?
I like legend of dragoon and think its actually only been mentioned once here. The dialog translations were crap in english, but the battle system was very traditional with that combo system that made it so much more than attack, attack, repeat. That and their defend command actually had a use.

I loved Chrono Trigger. It is something worth experiencing.
It is fast-paced and it did not have lengthy cutscenes. However, the fast pace did not detract from the depth behind the story.
I would call it one of the RPG masterpieces, but then again, that's my opinion.
Square should invest more into the series since the recent port sold one-million (according to VGChartz). That's pretty good considering the game was ported twice since the original.
